Vines and Flowers

My card is for three challenges. On Splitcoaststampers today, the QFTD was Joanne aka
sleepyinseattle. I cased this card, changing the image and sentiment. I used an embossing
folder by Tim Holtz called 'Bricked'. Also, on SCS, the Free for All challenge was to use a color wheel and use 'opposite colors' on the wheel. I chose red and green.

I did the embedded image technique. I stamped my image, added my flowers and butterflies and then I ran all of it through the cuttlebug with the embossing folder. I really like this technique

I also made my card for the CAS-ual Fridays challenge #3 to make a clean and simple card and use
bling. I added the rhinestones in the centers of my flowers and around the sentiment.

Recipe:
Stamps: Stampabilities -Vine background and SU Well Scripted
Paper: PTI white cardstock and SU Real Red
Ink: Memento Bamboo Leaves, Dandelion, and Potter's Clay
Accessories: Martha Stewart classic butterfly punch, Martha Stewart Flower Patch punch (using only the flower)

Stampin' B's-Spring Scene

The hostess this week for the Stampin' B's Design Team challenge is Nancyruth and she asked for a Spring scene. I think my little girl on a swing fits that perfectly. I remember those Spring days doing the very same thing.
Ah....to be that young again.

I am using a Tatty Button image called Swing Time. It is from Creative Expressions. I stamped and colored her on a Spellbinders Grand Nestabilitie, sponged some clouds and green for the grass. Then, it was finished with a crinkled ribbon and a couple buttons.

We hope you'll play along this week. If so, link your creation to the inlinkz tool on the Stampin' B's blog here.
I'm entering my card into the Tuesday Throwdown  challenge #49- Boys and Girl Come Out to Play

It didn't take long to make my card. I stamped some leaves and stems and added buttons for the flowers.
I'm using three strands of twine and added a bit of dp at the bottom. Stamped a birthday sentiment and that's it!

Flourishes Timeless Tuesday #118-Inspiration Photo

My time as Guest Designer for the May FTTC challenges is flying by. This is my third week and the hostess for the Flourishes Timeless Tuesday challenge #118 is Tammy Hershberger.  She has given us this fabulous inspiration photo to work with.

The tutorial for this beautiful  paper flower topiary made by Julia Sandvoss can be found on her blog,  'Bits of Me..The Craft Mom' . What a wonderful creation!

I was inspired by the beautiful roses and colors and chose Flourishes DIY Topiary Stamp Set for my card this week. There are so many possibilites with this set. I stamped one of the pots and added the shrub-like topiary, coloring it green. I used another of the stamps in the set for the roses and colored, cut out each one, and glittered. I think it made a lovely topiary. I placed it against a brick wall embossing folder. I'm using a Spellbinders lattice rectangle die cut and a scalloped rectangle die.
Added the purple tulle and button to finish it.

Be sure to visit the Flourishes Team and leave a comment on their blogs in order to be eligible for the prize.

Talk About Green! What?????

What on earth color is this?????? I made my card thinking I was using Stampin'Up! Always Artichoke.
Well, it certainly doesn't look like that to me. Anyone know? That is what it said on the package but it certainly does not look like what I am already using in that color.

I cased this card from Anne Ryan's gallery on Splitcoaststampers. She is Queen for the Day #60 and will reign until next Friday. This is her beautiful card.  It is a clean and simple and I used my Rubber Stamp Tapestry peg stamp set...love it!
