I'm trying to figure out why my tiny, bottom gemstone looks larger than the others when it isn't.

My card is also entered into the Simon Says Stamp blog challenge-Anything Goes

Grads, A Queen, and Mixed Media

Splitcoaststampers Mix-Ability 13 challenge is doodling and using a minium of two mediums. Ouch! Doodling is something I have always stayed away from but here I am trying by doodling down the sides of my panel with a thin marker.

I used Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist/Pink Party and Dragonfly to get my sprayed colors. I inked a metal frame and stamped on the top in Tim Holtz Distress Ink/Rusty Hinge.

The tickets were free digis from the Scrap-A-Licious blog. I added some decorative tape I purchased from Michaels Arts and Crafts.

Cardstock is Stampin'Up! Crushed Curry and Night of Navy. Also, white cardstock from scraps.

My card is also for the Queen for the Day #162, Jeanne S. This is the card I cased...for the sketch.

I think that wraps it up for me for the weekend. Unfortunately, we are expecting rain and cooler temps Saturday. Boo Hoo  I wanted to work in my yard. Hope your weekend is full and warmth and pretty sunshine.

In the Kitchen

CCEE1317

Kathy Bradley is bringing us her last challenge for the month of April at CCEE Stampers. The theme is In the Kitchen. Make a card using food, appliances, a whole kitchen scene, utensils-anything that can be found in the kitchen.

I have a Spellbinders Exclusive Dies Collection for Our Daily Bread Designs Apron and Tools die that I'm using for this challenge. I think it is so cute and includes the apron and utensils. I punched holes to run the ribbon through. I've also added a recipe inside. If you would like, here it is:

 Chocolate Chip Pound Cake

1 box yellow cake mix
1 box 4 1/4 oz. Instant Chocolate Pudding
8 oz. sour cream
1 cup oil
4 eggs
1/4 cup water
6 oz. chocolate chips

Mix dry ingredients-cut in sour cream
Beat eggs-add oil and water
Mix liquid and dry ingredients
Add chocolate chips

Pour into greased and floured tube or bundt pan
Bake at 325 1 hour to 1 1/4 hours

I don't think I've tried this recipe and don't know where I got it. But, it sounds good. If you try it, give me a report. I believe there are some different recipes out there for this cake.

We hope you'll come over to the CCEE Stampers challenge and play along with us. Just add your card with the inlinkz tool.

Mixed Media

I wanted to try the Mix-Ability challenge on Splitcoaststampers. That's a really fun challenge and Dina Kowal, the hostess, has sooooo many ideas and informative tutorials on mixed media. The challenge for this week can be found here.

This week's challenge is Pop Goes Your Color Wheel! You can use all warm colors with a pop of a cool color or all cool colors with a pop of a warm color. I chose all warm with one cool color..blue.

The colors I'm using came from Tattered Angels glimmer mist/Dragonfly (blue) and Party Pink. Also, I used dylusions ink spray/postbox red and pure sunshine.

Other items used:  BasicGrey flourish corner stamps, pearls, crimper

I also made my card for the Queen for the Day challenge #161. The new queen is Joyce Ann aka AnniePanda. This is the card I chose to case.

Entering the challenge at Little Red Wagon #182 (Crimp my Style) to use a crimper on your project.
I crimped a panel down the right side of my card.

A Single Rose For You

I'm here to play in the Inspired by Stamping challenge again this week. I love this challenge and have won some wonderful items there. Win or not, it's just fun to play. IBSIC#53 has beautiful colors to use:

I love these pretty colors. My papers are Stampin'Up! Rose Red and Baja Breeze along with PTI Kraft and white. I'm afraid my Rose Red turned a bit more red in the photo than the real thing.

I used Copic markers: R81-Rose Pink, R85-Rose Red, E87-Fig, and E84-Khaki.

The patio chair seats reminded me of circles so that explains why I have them on my card. I used a Fiskars 1/2" circle punch.

Stamps used: Inspired by Stamping Vintage Backgrounds for the circles and Beautiful Iris for the sentiment. The rose is from the set, Elegant Flowers. I love that set because it has a lot of images for coloring....something I really like to do. The last post I did was using a rose in that same set. I love it!

That's it for me through the weekend. Hope yours is great.

A Rose x 3

CCEE Stampers1316

This week's CCEE Stampers challenge, given by Kathy Bradley, is to make a card using only gray, pink and white or ivory. I used pink, gray, and white.

The roses by Inspired by Stamping/Elegant Flowers are stamped, colored, cut out, and popped on.
The sentiment is from the same company and is from the Just Because set. I stamped a flourish in TPC Studio Graphite ink. It is from a BasicGrey set/Flourish Corner.

We hope you'll join us this week. Take a peek at the rest of the team's wonderful cards and upload yours using the inlinkz tool. We would love to see your creations.

Queen Bonnie

Friday was the Queen for the Day challenge #160 on Splitcoaststampers. The new queen is Bonnie aka bon2stamp. She is my friend and blogging pal and I was happy to case a card from her
awesome gallery. It sure has a lot of beautiful CAS cards. This is the card I cased.

I used a wood grain embossing folder and Bonnie used a wood grain stamp for her background. I inked my embossing folder before running the paper through the machine. All the stamps I used were different from hers. I thought my Inspired by Stamping branch image could be used for a tree or branch..how cool.

Of course, I had to add a little bird to mine. :-) I'm sure Bonnie knows I love birds.

Recipe:

Paper-PTI white cardstock

CCEE Stampers-Recipe

CCEE1315

This week Kathy Bradley, as hostess, asked the CCEE Stampers to do a card following a recipe:
In addition to your card base, use two designer papers, 1 circle (oops--I  used more than one if you count my stamped image), one square, and whatever else your heart desires.

We hope you'll join us this week and let us see your project. Check out the rest of the team's cards and upload your card using the inlinkz button.

If you recognize the image and know the maker,  I would appreciate if you let me know.

Leaves of Three

Merry Monday Christmas Card Challenge #57

I've been busy making cards this week, haven't I? The temps are in the 80's again today and I should be outside but I'm hiding from pollen. Of course, it will catch up with me soon and I'll be miserable for a couple weeks. The Southeast is the worst place for allergies in the U.S. Just look it up. Although, I am sure many suffer elsewhere.

I've watched my friend, Bonnie, at Stamping with Klass makes such pretty Christmas cards for  the Merry Monday Christmas Card Challenge where she is a DT member and thought I needed to get on my Christmas cards again. So, I got out my holly image and went to work.

This week is a sketch:

I punched out some 1" circles with a Fiskars punch, handmade a banner, and used a Spellbinders circle nestabilitie for stamping my image. The bow is a Martha Stewart punch, ribbon/bow.
My image is Ornamental Holly Fabric Stamp Set by Rubber Stamp Tapestry. I am stamping on paper, though, not fabric.  It works well on both.

The paper is PTI White, Stampin'Up! Cherry Cobbler and Old Olive. Ink is Memento Bamboo Leaves. My sentiment is from Hot Off the Press/Christmas Words.

My card also fits the March Christmas Challenge 2013/Dirty Dozen Monthly Themes. It is a challenge for Fan Club Membesr  and is an ongoing challenge so you are welcome to play whenever you please.: SCSCCMarch13. The challenge is Leaves of Green or Three.
