Bats, Mummies, and ........

This is the second of three Halloween cards I will make this year. This one wasn't so scary until I added the ghost corners. Yikes!! They remind me of something I saw at our Lowe's last night. It was a 16 ft. inflatable reaper with red eyes. It was really scary and I was ready to get out of there. Ha It looked as if it would almost reach the top of my two-story house.

I love this big pumpkin die cut by Tim Holtz. I cut him out (out of the box) and added some Distress Crackle to him, then embossed with a Distressed Stripes embossing folder. I then added my leaves, bats, mummies, and sentiments. Have you tried the new Momenta cut and emboss die cuts? They are so thin but do a really good job. I wish I could have made my photo larger and you could see them embossed on the leaves better.  This is it on SCS. Hobby Lobby is carrying those dies now.

Tuesday Throwdown #167 is having a challenge called Colors of Fall so I'm entering this card.

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge is Anything Goes.

I used snippets for the bat, mummy, and behind my ghosts so I'm entering the Pixie's Crafty Workshop challenge -Pixie's Crafty Snippets Playground -Week #92

Now for my long recipe:

Thoughts of You

I'm here to make a quick post this Saturday morning. My card is for the Queen for the Day on Splitcoaststampers. The queen is Susie aka PaperPunchScissors and I love her work. I chose this card to case. About the only thing alike is we both made a hinged filigree card.

For sure, this card was a test to photograph. I
barely have it standing on those fragile 'legs'.   Yes, there is a back to this card. If you look closely through one of the holes on the left side, you can see it. :-) I carried it outside to photograph instead of using my tent or card studio and I'm not so happy with the photo. White is a bit hard for me, anyway.

Off to a ball game trip later this afternoon. It's a night game, which I like best. Hope everyone has a great weekend.

My card is entered into the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge--Anything Goes.

Celebrate Christmas

Hi Friends.....My sis is still visiting and we're having a super time. We went shopping yesterday (all day) and I found this adorable snowman image at the scrapbook store. I couldn't wait to use it and sure enough not when I found the Merry Monday Christmas Card Club Challenge #76 this week to use a snowman. If you know me very well, you know a snowman is my FAVORITE image to work with. I placed him so it looks as if he is looking up at the Christmas tree and about to adorn it with a star topper.

I colored him with Copics, bought some tinsel to put around his fun hat and I added glossy accents to the ornaments.  The embossing folder is Spellbinders M Bossabilities Holiday Magic. Rest of recipe  is below.

My sketch is from a card I cased for the Featured Stamper this week on Splitcoaststampers. The stamper is Curt aka indycurt and this is the card I cased.

Splitcoaststampers also has a monthly Christmas challenge for Fan Club members. This month's theme is Silver Bells.....use silver, bells, or both. You may use silver cord, silver embossing, silver anything. My silver is the tinsel.

That Spooky Night

I  may be gone away from my blog again for several days after today. Going to a ball game Saturday and my sis is coming for a visit on Sunday and we will have a lot to. Did I mention we have a super scrapbook store that we love to visit? Anyone want to send a donation for our shopping trip?  LOL Yes, Michael's, Jo Ann Stores, and Hobby Lobby will be visited, too. Hey, we can even go online for crafties.  Fun, fun, fun!!!

I wanted and needed to make a Halloween card. I spent so much time with this card. There are several digital images on this card and also several wooden stamp images. I really think it is so cute in real life. I made it larger than usual (5 x7) to fit it all the items I used.

This card is entered into the Splitcoaststampers QFTD182. This is the gorgeous card I was supposed to case. It belongs to Tina aka GardenDiva. Well, it barely resembles hers. Ugh! Does my card look as if I got carried away? YES!!

And, another card for Pixie's Crafty Workshop #90---I used snippets getting my characters made

I'm also sending my card to Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge-- use a product that is available in the Simon Says Stamp Store and state what you used. I used the Stampendous Stamp Give Candy Blockart.  I also used their Memento dew drops ink/Girls Night Out-Tuxedo Black and Arizona Canyons-Desert Sand. SSS is also having a STAMPtember blog hop going on.

Hope.......

I've been away on a trip and missing on my blog. Glad to get home but missing my son and his family like crazy. My trip explains why I haven't been to visit your blogs lately or uploaded since my little snowmen. I will remedy that soon. I may have to miss commenting on what I didn't catch while I was away but go from now.

I cased a card that belonged to Cindy aka frenziedstamper on Splitcoasterstampers. She is the new reigning Queen for the Day. Here is her gorgeous card. I would have loved to have used those same colors but needed to change it up a  bit. It's an easy CAS card...just some stamping and sponging.

I did soften my photo a bit. After other tweaking, it was still starker than in real life. Yikes! I didn't like that look so you get the mellow version. It is still so much brighter than in real life. I kind of wish, also, that I had stamped my sentiment in black.

I'm going over to Pixie's Crafty Workshop with my card. Now, that is one fun place to visit. I always leave with a big grin on my face after reading Di's posts. Makes my day! My birdies were made with snippets of white cardstock which I inked in blue. My stamped panel was also from snippets...is that a big snippet? Ha

The Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge is to use a product from their store and name it: My product is Memento 4 Dew Drop Ink Pads-Farmer's Market. I'm using the cantaloupe ink from that set. They are also celebrating STAMPtember with a blog hop.

Snowmen at the Fence

I'm so excited to get this stamp and use it. I saw it used last year on Splitcoaststampers by a wonderful stamper and knew I had to have it for this year. I LOVE a snowman. How many times have I said that?? :-) It is from The Peddler's Pack Stampworks/Fenced in Snowmen. I've made a CAS card which made it sooooooo easy to get another Christmas card added to the stack.

My card is being entered into the Merry Monday Christmas Card Club--challenge #74.

My woodgrain is the fence which I colored green while giving it a worn look. One of the snowmen is wearing a mitten which I colored with a neutral color, as  I also did the lights.

Weekly Christmas Card Challenges #41 wants to see snowmen this week. I can accommodate.

Christmas Roses

Blogger is acting up with my photo so hope all is well when I publish this card.

Today is the new Queen for the Day challenge on Splitcoaststampers -#180- and I have to say I wanted to case all of the new queen's cards. What a fabulous gallery. It is Cheryl aka CherylStamps and this is the card I cased. Isn't it beautiful?

My swag is Christmas Roses by Just Ink Lined and is a digital image. I cut out the flowers by hand. How nice it would be to have a die for it. I colored the image with Copics.

I'll enter my card into the challenge at Paper Take Weekly-Anything Goes With the optional extra to do a Christmas card/project

Faith

I can't believe it is September and I can really tell it. Hubby mows, edges, and blows making the yard look great and in no time leaves and acorns have fallen and made a mess. Of course, some of it was due to rainy, stormy weather we had. Plus, a squirrel nest fell...now, that's really a mess.

I wanted to make a white on white card and used a 3D M Bossabilities folder I've been really wanting to try. I love it! Unfortunately, I had to cut part of the bottom off to get this size card. Maybe later I'll make a very large card and won't cut that pretty part off the card.

I'm entering my card into these challenges:

Mixed Media/Wooden Shapes-HOPE

Good Morning....hope all celebrating Labor Day are enjoying their day and maybe will get in a bit of crafting. It's a rainy, cloudy day here. No picnic for us. Guess I'll have to craft all day.....hee hee

I've been wanting to try the tutorial at Inspired by Stamping-WHW#115--Creating Mixed Media with Wooden Shapes. It is really fun to do something a quite a bit different from cards. You can see a closer up photo on my Splitcoaststampers gallery. I'm also posting my card at the Inspired by Stamping Customer Gallery for September.

I started with a wooden bird. I used modeling paste, several ink sprays, a wooden note which I covered with Stickles, a button, feather, stamps, and a plastic mesh canvas on the tail and head. All the instructions can be found at the IBS site link I listed above.

I'll also enter this into the Mix-Abilility challenge Mix23 on  Splitcoaststampers.

A wonderful new challenge I've found: Word Art Wednesday challenge #95-Anything Goes
