Elegant Bird

I think I have overdosed on birds. This is the third card this week I've made with them. The colors this week at The Play Date Cafe challenge #68 are awesome.
I saw a lot of silver in the top, middle photo so I wanted to get elegant (while staying vintage) and use that on my pretty bird. I stamped the bird with VersaMark Dazzle and embossed with silver embossing tinsel. My flower was made from this tutorial and I used a pink ribbon with a silver sparkle thread running through it and added a pearl brad to the center. The flower was really easy to make, to my surprise.  I've used a foil doily and some pretty crocheted lace from JoAnn's. For the left corner, I snipped off a piece of the lace and added a button on top. Then, I add a couple of small, pink heart gemstones for a little romance.  Oh, for the bottom layer, I used a distress background stamp inked with Tim Holtz Antique Linen Distress Ink.

My card is also entered into these challenges:
Mark's Finest Papers-Speedy the Cat's Friends Challenge #41 to use a self made flower (I made a twisted ribbon rose)
Tuesday Throwdown #35-Add buttons to your artwork
Stampin B's Design Team #97-bird/birds on your card
Cute Card Thursday #151-Hearts and Flowers

EtsyInspired Challenge #125 My inspiration is from this pretty sparkle and shine headband from Daisy Petal Designs.

Benzi, this is SO beautiful! I love how you used the PDCC colors--I used those last night, too, and just loved them to pieces. :) Your ribbon rose ROCKS!! It's sooooooooo much better than how mine turned out. Thanks for the link to the tutorial. That really helped. Now I can't wait to try it again, and this time get it right!! You are acing these challenges!!

Benzi, this is such a beautiful rendition of our challenge colors this week. And I saw "embossing tinsel" listed in your recipe, but I don't think that's the same Martha item I use, the tinsel glitter. Who makes the tinsel embossing powder? Looks really pretty with the bird. And I LOVE that lace, and your handmade flower (thanks for a tutorial link) is perfect. So glad you came and played again at the Cafe!! You're rather popular over there!
