Sunflower for a Friend

It was a hot 104 degrees here in my area of Alabama yesterday and I don't think I've ever heard more thunder or seen more lightning than we had about 3:00-4:00 a.m. this morning. It was non-stop and seem to last forever. I've had little sleep. Another hot day today with a heat index of 110-115 degrees but the temps are not as high. But, I still love summer. :-)

Wow! I have a very bright card today. Hope you like orange. Lois is our hostess this week for the Stampin' B's Design Team challenge #122 and she asked that we make a square birthday card with piercing. I lined up my Spellbinders circle, scallop nestabilitie and pierced around the  grooved edges to pierce around my flower. I stamped three times and cut out two layers that I popped up. Colored with Copics and added Dazzling Diamonds to the center. I am using a French Scroll punch around the page.

Hope you'll join us this week. If so, just add your card to the inlinkz tool .

Speedy the Cat's blog challenge #66 at Mark's Finest Papers is to use twine, baker's twine, jute, yarn, anything other than ribbon. I am using Cappuccino baker's twine.

Recipe:
Stamps: Mark's Finest Papers-Hearts, Hearts, Hearts and Mark's Finest Papers- Blackberries, Sunflowers, and Bees
Paper: PTI dark chocolate and white
Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa
Accessories: Spellbinders circle, scallop nestabilitie, Martha Stewart punch around the page-French Scroll, Stampin'Up! Dazzling Diamonds, Martha Stewart artist glue pen, Copics, Cuppuccino baker's twine, piercer and pad, button

AHhh, I see why you like orange so much! This is so pretty with that brilliant flower and I love the beautiful punched borders too! Awesome work!
I hope you get some sleep tonight and that those storms are behind you! We finally got some good rain last night and I'm so thankful too!

I really like the brightness of this card ... you know orange is one of my favorite colors ... War Eagle! *smile* All joking aside, this is oh so pretty, Brenda!

Did you have the massive winds with all your thunder and lightning? It was a wild night! When I went out this morning, flower pots were overturned as was our trash can which had blown into a tree. Sadie, the whippet, does not like storms so it was like having a new baby in the house ... no sleep!

Have a great day!

You know how much I love your beautiful bright card Brenda. B/T you and myself, we really lit up the StampinB site this week. Your flower is awesome and I love the creative piercing. The PATP - well you know how I feel about that - I WANT IT!! - and your baker's twine treatment are great touches to this beautiful card!!! Why am I being so nice to you? Oh, that's right, I'm nice on your blog, but not on SCS. I knew there was a reason! Blog is looking mighty fine!
