I found a tutorial on making a chest online at ehow.com and took a look at the photo and made just a front with my cardstock. I had to set my sewing machine somewhere and thought this was perfect. I made a 'fabric' cloth for the top of the chest by cutting the shape and embossing. The chest was distressed for an old look. My sentiment was hand cut.

Recipe:
Stamps-I'm in Stitches
Memento Tuxedo Black, Stampabilities white
Paper: MFP Old World Gold, Bo Bunny Press-Velvet Floral dp, The Paper Studio brads for the chest

I also made this extra card for the blog hop using this same set. I went vintage with my card, something I don't do a lot. And, I had fun with it.

I have collected a few scissors over the years and my sis made me a beautiful  box that had some gorgeous gold metallic stitching on the scissors at the top of the box. That was for keeping my scissors inside. It was on my blog quite a while back. So, this set is really a lovely one for me.

I love your sewing cabinet, Brenda! It looks perfect, down to the little piece of fabric peeking out from under the sewing machine. Very creative!!!

Love that chest!!! The sewing machine looks like the one my great-grandma had. Such a wonderful look to that card. The other is cute too. Don't you collect old sissors? I may be remembering that wrong...when you get to be in your 90s like we are things don't stay too well in there - LOL! Yesterday I was late to a meeting in the morning and I left my car running until lunch time (I have one of those keyless start cars). You know, it hardly used any gas over those 4.5 hours, but I think I need to slow down some! Don't tell Pamzi - I will never hear the end of it!!!! Love your creations - Well done! Hugz!!!!

Sew nice. Especially like the chest idea. Wish I knew how to sew. My mother was a wonderful seamstress. I took Home Ec sewing in high school.
Had jury duty summons today. 25 people were selected. I was left in remaining 28 group and after waiting for some time we were told we were not needed & could leave.
