Living in Nature

I was so happy to get to case a card from the new Queen from the Day #137, none other than the very talented Audrey aka AudreyAnn. Her gallery is so fabulous and I could case a zillion of her cards. When I saw this card, I fell in love with it. I really need that beautiful eagle she used.

You really should go over to her gallery and take a look. You cannot be disappointed.

She used dp for her bg and I used an embossing folder which I inked (using white cardstock) with Memento Rich Cocoa and TPC Graphite. I like how it turned out.

I did my leaves as she did. I die cut them and cut them again. I glued them together so they would be sturdy. The leaves are sponged with Memento Bamboo Leaves, Cantaloupe, Pear Tart, Tangelo, Potter's Clay and Versa Magic Aloe Vera. Whew! Quite a lot. I really didn't sponge but just swiped my pads over them.  That made it very easy and I like it.

The die cut the owl is placed on is Spellbinders deckled rectangle. My embossing folders are Tim Holtz Alteration Fades woodgrain (Sizzix) and the other that is behind the owl is Cuttlebug herringbone.

I used an owl punch from Stampin'Up! The leaves are Spellbinders Shapeabilities Foliage die cut and a Memory Box woodland branch die for the owl to stand on. The clip is by The Paper Studio.

My sentiment is by Mark's Finest Papers and Stamps/North American Woods.

Cardstock is Stampin'Up! Chocolate Chip, PTI Vintage Cream, and PTI white, black, green, and white scraps.

O.K., that's it! Aren't you glad? :-)

I am so excited for our Audzi! Unfortunately, I can't see the card you case'd, 'cause I'm not a fan club member at SCS (shh, don't tell). However, I think you did a great job making this card feel very authentic. The 'bark' and 'leaves' look so real!

Love that wood grain and the leaves, Benzi. What incredible coloring on them! I think your owl is precious, even if he isn't an eagle. :-D

Oooh such a fabulous autumnal card, love the effect of your sponged leaves. I have some of those swirly clips somewhere (I've been having a bit of a tidy up while Mr Mojo is away) but don't recall seeing them, dear knows where they are LOL

This is wonderful. I love owls and that woodgrain bg is perfect - it looks soooo real (I had to look really close at it to make sure it wasn't). What a great technique.

Wonderful case of our sweet Audzi!

Hugz!
