Twas the Night
I made my card for this week's Featured Stamper, my talented blogging and Punchkateer pal. Anyone who knows Colleen aka Smoatsmom on Splitcoaststampers or from her blog Dietrich Designs knows she has the most elegant cards ever.
She sent me this Christmas card this past season and I absolutely love it so I decided to try to case it. I really needed the beautiful red and white houndstooth but had to settle for this blue/green color. I used a stamp the same as hers. I had sent this one to Colleen after she sent me a wonderful bird stamp. She knows I love birds and houndstooth. After buying her stamp, I had to buy one for myself. :-) Isn't that the way it is?
I ended up making a square card instead of like Colleen's A2. Well, that's a long story I won't go into.
Otherwise, I tried to follow her creation and make a few changes so I wouldn't be copying her card.
I like my cards better on SCS because I always show them larger. I need to figure out how to enlarge my photo space on my blog as I can't show the same size as I do on Splitcoaststampers.
Colleen, have fun this week being a celebrity on Splitcoaststampers. You deserve it!

Beautiful card!!!
Hi Brenda, isn't it amazing how the use of different colours can totally change the look of a particular design? I love how your white doily takes centre stage against the darker background and that gorgeous red ribbon has a lovely velvety shine.
Hi Benz!!! I have been out of my craft room and trying to catch up. Love the blue background and pops of red! Stunning card!
Big hugs!
Ellen
Love the die cut under the sentiment. Yeah for getting a Christmas card done :)
I really like the design of your CASED card, and the lotus diecut looks so pretty with that sentiment! I think the non-traditional blue houndstooth pattern looks fabulous for your Christmas card! Well done!
Gorgeous card, Brenda! Love the diecut medallion! It's hot, but stable here. Hope it's the same for you!
Love the color combo, Benzi! Gorgeous red ribbon and that die cut medallion is so beautiful.
So pretty! That beautiful red bow really makes this card pop!
What a wonderful card to honor a wonderful stamper! I love the colors you chose and think the square card fits the design perfectly!
