Blue Poinsettia and Some Needlepoint

Have you ever  been upset about a card you made? Well, that is me with this one. I even hesitated about uploading it.  I was doing a case of the Queen for the Day on Splitcoaststampers. It is Janette aka blessingsx3. The card I cased is just beautiful. Here is Janette's card. Quite the beauty, isn't it? By mistake, I left off the top panel. How did that happen? I stamped my image on the large white panel, got the ribbon on, and  placed my poinsettia. Then, I looked at her card I had printed off and it was an 'oh, no' moment.. So, I decided to just go with it and stamped the sentiment, getting it too high so I added some of those popular sequins to fill in the space that I thought was much too much. I would love to case her card again sometime and do it right the next time.

I am having a bit of a problem with my camera, too. For some reason, it is wanting to blur at the bottom, left side. I guess I'll have to go back to the store where I bought it and find out what is the problem. One more thing...Ugh! Oh, I need to quit complaining. These are such small things and I'm just glad to have a good camera.

I'm entering a second card into the Oozak Challenge-#26--Holiday and Anything Goes
Stamplorations wants you to use a stamp and sequins for their November challenge.
Brown Sugar Challenge Blog -#69-Anything Goes
Curtain Call has an inspirational photo  and the theme this week is CAS-ual Christmas. I'm getting in under 4 min. or less before closing time. Whew!

Recipe:
Stamps-Stampabilities/Merry Little Christmas, BasicGrey/Flourish Corners
Paper-PTI white cardstock, Stampin'Up! Night of Navy cardstock
Ink-Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories-Copics for coloring poinsettia, snowflake ribbon, silver sequins, silver brad, silver cording, Tim Holtz tattered poinsettia (Sizzix) for the flower part.

You all probably know I LOVE snowmen. Today, I want to show you a few of the needlepoint things my sister has made for me over the years.

The metallic yarn is so pretty on these pillows. Wish it was showing.  She has made enough of these over the years to go all the way up my staircase. And, they're all different and gorgeous. She is an expert in needlepointing. I used to needlepoint but that was before I got into cardmaking and now there is no time. Makes me sad.

This adorable hanging snowman is hanging on my computer desk so I can view it all the time. His face and all around is just full of sparkling, metallic yarn.

This is a closer up view. It really doesn't do it justice, though. So much prettier IRL.

I just received these two in the mail on Friday. We are such  Alabama football fans so she made these...one for hubby and one for me.  I immediately hung them on my tree. They are just too cute.

I was sitting here in my Alabama sweatshirt reading your post and got to all the precious little snowmen projects from your sister. Lo and behold I see BAMA!!!! My daughter got her Masters from there so we're big fans - Roll Tide! LOL!

Benzi, I love your card! I peeked at Janette's card and it is beautiful but so is yours! I love that you didn't put it on an extra panel and it's so pretty and elegant just as is! The addition of those sequins are wonderful. Lovely card!

Lovely card and how wonderful of your sister to send you snowmen :) They are adorable. I know a lady who has over 150 which she puts all over her house at Christmas.

Hi Benzi! I love the white space in your card and the whole layout -I think there's nothing wrong with the card so don't be upset! :) Great to see all those adorable makes from your sister too. Thanks for joining our November Challenge at Stamplorations!

Benzi, Your card is just lovely the way it is. I didn't think your sentiment was too high, but I do like the addition of the sequins in the middle. This card has a total look of class. Those needlepoint "gems" of yours are beautiful. Your sister is just as talented as you I see. What a terrific idea to put these on your stair case. Enjoy your day. It's freezing and very windy here. I have to go to the market and I am NOT looking forward to it at all. Hubby is sweet enough to take me and drop me off at the door, so I don't have to walk in this horrid, cold wind. I'm blessed.

First of all Brenda, what are you talking about? Your blue poinsettia CASE is so delicately beautiful and very pleasing to the eye. If it is blurred that adds to the allure.
You are an outstanding needle point artist, as well! Your ornaments and pillows are to die for!

Oh, Brenda, so many things. First, I had a definite "Oh no" moment on my card/post for today, too!! But you are too hard on this card and how it turned out. I think it is fabulous! But I do understand about wanting to do another one anyway.

Good luck with getting your camera issues resolved. (That's complaint worthy in our hobby!)

Thank you for sharing the awesome gifts from your generous and talented sister!! I about fell off my chair when I saw the "Bama" ornament since that's what the twins call me! Only it's pronounced like Mama. It's fun that she made you each an ornament for the team!

Hugs, Darnell

Hi, Benzi! (Do you go by Benzi, or Brenda? - folks often ask me about "de" and Donna and I tell them both). LOL

Anyway, "Hi, Benzi!" It's funny that you mentioned how disappointed you were with your card because as soon as it popped up, I signed a sigh of beauty. Such elegant, feminine beautiful flourishes behind your pretty poinsettia. The simple sequins just remind me of sparkly Christmas! and your gorgeously scripted sentiment is lovely.

Thank you for sharing the pretty needlepoint billows for your stair case! What a wonderful tradition, and beautiful way to decorate. The little decorations are sweet, too!

In case I don't see another card soon, Happy Thanksgiving to you, my new cyber friend. Best wishes to you and your family. hugs, de

I like your CAS version of the QFTD card you cased! Eliminating the top panel enhanced it and made it completely yours! You are so blessed to have a sister who makes so many nice things for you! Everything is just SO festive and pretty!!

Stunning card, Benzi! Love the minimal sequins -- not overdone but just the perfect touch of sparkle. I'm so envious of all those adorable snowmen you've gotten from your sister. I love snowmen and would have them year 'round if I could. Love the "Bama" !! :-D

I think your card is beautiful, Benzi! I love it in the blue and I'm impressed with the sequins. They're perfect and you wouldn't have used them if you had put the sentiment lower! Love these needlepoint pillows and decorations! And thanks for a peek at your Christmas tree!

I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving. Are the kids coming?

Hi Benzi. Your card honoring Janette is beautiful. CASE'ing doesn't have to be an exact layout, etc. ... you have captured the essence of her card ... and I love it done in the blue! Great job!

Your sister is an expert at needlepoint! The pillows, hanger and ornaments are so beautiful! Loll xx

OK..first the card. I thought it was just gorgeous, and if you thought the sentiment was too high (well, I didn't!), but you handled it beautifully with the trio of sparkly gems. I'm off to enjoy your inspiration when I finish commenting. Your card was lovely...and the photo looked fine to me (but then you know how _my_ photos are! So I can't really judge anyone else!). Loved the blue poinsettia & corner tied ribbon too. Certainly enjoyed seeing all the lovely needlepoint goodies and lucky you to have such a talented & generous sister. Tell her how much I enjoyed them, please. TFS & Hugs

What a thoughtful sister!

I had the same thing happen to my camera a few years back and we had to ship it to Nikon and they fixed right up!

Your card is lovely!
