Altered Christmas Ornament

I'm supposed to be in Franklin and Nashville, TN today for some Christmas events. We were going with our son, dil, and little ones but my DIL went to the emergency care this morning with a fever and discovered she had the flu. Hubby and I have had flu shots but we left their house as fast as we could. We sure don't want to be sick and didn't know the strain she had or really which strains our flu shot covered. I know the flu vaccine is designed for whatever virus is expected this year but I'm taking no chances. So, the trip is off for this year. That does give me more time for what I need to do at home, though.

Getting to my post, I bought this chipboard ornament at Hobby Lobby and thought I would alter it. Yes, I went with black and white again and used some red/green, too. The paper is unknown and the sentiment and bough are from Inspired by Stamping/Elegant Christmas set. I colored with Copics.
My seam binding is Stampin'Up! Cherry Cobbler. I added a Martha Stewart punched snowflake and a red rhinestone. The tinsel is around the sides.

I'll enter this in the Inspired by Stamping Customer Gallery challenge for December.

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge-Let it Snow...they want to see snowflakes, snowfall, snowmen, etc. Well, I have one snowflake on my project so I'm sending it over there.

That's it for me for now. I may do 1-2 more Christmas cards but I really don't think I have time.

Have a wonderful weekend. I have just a bit of shopping left to do and plenty of baking, candy making, and a dinner to plan.

Very cute project! Can you believe how close Christmas is? I am still making cards! I started to photograph some finished cards and my camera battery was dead so I took a nap! :)

I'm so sorry about your daughter in law getting the flu - and hope no one else comes down with it now!! I had it twice last year and both times, thought I was a goner for sure. This year I got the flu shot!!

Your ornament is beautiful. I'm really liking the black and red together and love the tinsel you put around it. So lovely and it's going to be great to hang.

This is such a lovely ornament, and I can't picture it in any other colors than black & white with the red ribbon! Very pretty, and so sorry about your DIL getting ill, but hopefully you and the hubs won't catch it!

Love that ornament, Benzi! Beautiful ribbon and sentiment. So sorry about your DIL getting sick right before the big holiday and I sincerely hope you've escaped unscathed. Nothing worse than being sick during the holidays.

So sorry you missed out on a what sounded to be a delightful trip. I do hear you about avoiding the flu germs though. You just never know if the shot works against 'this one'. Our SIL came down to Fla. at Thksgiving with a cold, and I worried about contagion. We escaped altho I did my best to keep my distance and wipe down things! Good luck. At least your cloud did have a silver lining. Your ornament is beautiful. Loved the B&W with the bright festive red & green. This will be so pretty as a decoration for you. And glad I could help with the Winter Birthday reminder! Just discovered we need a quick sympathy card, so I need to see if I've something that can be used. Such a sad one to prepare at any time, but especially round the holiday. We had sun today. Hugs, stay warm, & TFS
