Favorite Snowman

I returned from my Thanksgiving trip and had so much to do when I returned that I have not been crafting until I found time to make a card with my favorite snowman....ever.  My sister gave me this snowman stamp several years ago and I love it to pieces.

I'll get around to my blog pals today and leave some comments. I probably won't go back and try to catch up, though, but will get to see the pretty things you've been making while I was away.

I masked off the snowman image and sponged around it. The image is colored with Copics and I've added some sparkle (which can't be seen), and added snowflakes with watercolor paint. The trim around the hat is Liquid Applique.

I wanted to make a card for the QFTD192 on Splitcoaststampers. It is Beverly aka ruby-heartedmom
and this is what I wanted to case....a snowman. It is nothing like hers but it is celebrating snowmen. :-)

Stampin' Royalty has a challenge (#205) this week that is to incorporate snowflakes. Mine aren't stamped, punched, or die cut but added with watercolor paint.

Inky Impressions Challenge Blog-#137--- Winter or Snow---They want to see chilly images, perhaps a few snowflakes, or people dressed for the cold.

Recipe:
Stamps-Rubber Cottage/Let it Snow
Paper-Stampin'Up! cherry cobbler (hmmm...looks real red here), Georgia Pacific white cs
Ink-Memento Paris Dusk and Tuxedo Black
Accessories-Copics, Gelly Roll/clear star, Liquid Applique, Winsor & Newton Chinese white watercolor paint

I can see why this is your favorite stamp. I love it also. Outstanding job on your sponging and snow. Great coloring also and I really like the liquid applique on his hat. Hubby is hoping to be able to see some snowmen in our area this winter. I think we might make a snowman ourselves and I'll try to copy this one when/if we do. Hope your trip was nice. Enjoy your day.

WB Brenda, and I hope you had a great time while you were away! This snowman really is cute and I can understand why he's your favorite! Great coloring and I love the pop of red. I thought about you after that Bama/Auburn game and know you must have felt tremendous shock with the outcome!! That was just unimaginable!

OH OH OH! Benzi, I cannot believe you used this snowman - he is my ALL TIME FAVORITE! Love love LOVE what you have done with him, and yes, I pinned him before even reading your post or examining your artwork. Love all the textured snow and magnificent coloring (thanks for explaining about the sponging) Such rich colors - I thought you used copics, but it looks like water color - wow! GORGEOUS! I also like the use of aqua with the red. LOVE this little guy! hugs, de

Hi Benzi! I LOVE this guy! At first I thought it was w/colors, until I looked more closely & read the post. What a wonderful background you've achieved with this luscious looking snowman. Loved the snowflakes. I did get a good haul, and it's still in bags in the Coleman cooler we took south full, and since it was empty on the return trip, was a good place to pack stuff. We've been unpacking, still resolving some issues with the 'new door' that was part of the window install, some other matters requiring followup, etc. The days have been very dreary, overcast, and I've just not had the Mo-Jo to go downstairs & make something. (Too much mess to contend with - for one thing!). I take a look round, sit in the recliner and watch Doc Martin!!! Maybe tonight I can get it in gear. TFS & Hugs.

Incredible coloring, Benzi! He'd be my favorite snowman, too, if I had him, and that's saying something since I have a ton of snowmen. Love that beautiful sky and all the snowflakes. Gorgeous!
