Rooster Behind the Chicken Wire

Today's mix-ability challenge #58 on Splitcoaststampers is Washy Washy. You are to do a color wash on your card. I misted my watercolor paper with water. Next, I used ink sprays and let it run down the paper. I let it dry a bit and placed my mini chicken wire stencil on top and sprayed again. That is why I have such a darker color at the right top. When all this dried, I stamped my images from Inspired by Stamping (see below)  directly onto the paper.

That was easy and I like the way it turned out.  I added a button and twine and it's finished.

I'm entering my card to The Inspired by Stamping Customer Gallery

Recipe:
Stamps-Inspired by Stamping/ Small Fancy Labels and French Country, Canson watercolor paper
Paper-Stampin'Up! Pool Party cs, PTI white cs
Ink-Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories-Dylusions Ink/Postbox Red and Dragonfly, Heidi Swapp color shine/coral and seafoam,
button, twine, The Crafters Workshop mini chicken wire stencil

That technique always gives cards a totally different look - and so pretty. Love the way you did the chicken wire stencil and that rooster is wonderful. Great idea about the button and twine too. Love it! Great job!

I guess I missed the boat on the mixed media train. I never tried creating a background like this, but it looks amazing! It's such a perfect backdrop for that polka dot image! Beautifully crafted!

Don't you just love sprays and masks. Fun to work with. Your card is just fabulous. I love the background-it's just beautiful. Yes, I have missed everyone too! I have worked hard on my son's house he just bought and then I just lost my really wonderful friend and neighbor of 22 years plus things going on with my Mom. I have been so sad and not very social. It makes me feel better to know I have been missed. Thank you so much.

Wowsa! I like the way this turned out too! This is great with your sprays, stencils and then just the right images to go over these delicious colors. I think you have this technique down perfectly. I will have to check on the Dylusions Dragonfly, as that's a new color to me. This is wonderful, Benzi, and like the tiny red heart by the sentiment. Well DONE! TFS & Hugs
