Easter Tulips with Burlap

Easter is getting closer. In my area, the dogwoods, tulips, daffodils and cherry trees are blooming. What a beautiful sight after such a terrible winter.

I don't have a lot of time recently for anything but CAS cards but when I get the chance, I play in  the Mixed Media challenge on Splitcoaststampers. Mix62 was to use tulips with at least 3 kinds of medium-acrylic, Gesso, ink, etc.  Last week I was able to combine it with the Free for All challenge-tone on tone.  I used white on white, layer to base.

I painted my tulips using Americana Acrylic paint in Napa Red and used Gesso.  The burlap stencil is done with the same paint in Camel.  The stems are done with Hauser med. green and lt. green acrylic paint.

Recipe:
Stamps-Mark's Finest Papers and Stamps/Blessings
Paper-PTI white cardstock
Ink-Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories-Americana Acrylic Paint/Camel, Napa Red, Lt. Green and Hauser Med. Green, Glossy Accents on one tulip, Tim Holtz burlap stencil, Marianne Design Creatables die/tulips

Very nicely done CAS card Benzi. Like how you colored the tulips. Not much for blooms in our area yet everything is coming up. SOON.

Oh, my, what beautiful tulips you have created, Brenda! Love the stenciled background that's perfect to show them off! The dogwoods and cherry trees are blooming here and the leaves are popping out! The pollen is falling too, but I'm so glad to see the trees bursting forth, that I don't mind. Enjoy!

I bought this burlap stencil and used it once, but I need to play with it a lot more after seeing this! I love that you used just a small portion to showcase those gorgeous tulips! Hurry up Spring! We're waiting!

Oh WOW! I am really liking all the texture & bright color on this one. We have tulips by the front steps (the rain has made them a bit sad looking now), not nearly as beautiful as these cheery red ones. I DO like this card! Well done. Off to enjoy a few I missed while lazing around. TFS & Hugs

Love your Easter Tulips! Mine are so hard trying to come alive! We have had such a late winter. We are expecting freezing rain with temps to dip in the 20's and 30's again this evening! Enough already! After having temps in the 80's on Sunday!
