Mixed Media---Birds

I love the mix-ability challenge on Splitcoaststampers. This week, the Mix66 challenge is to make a card with THINGS THAT FLY and use at least two types of mediums. Loving birds, I went with a pretty, wooden bird.

I used a piece of pattered paper and brushed on a bit of American  acrylic paint in pink.  Tim Holtz Distressed Paints-Broken China is used for the bird and a bit at the top. After it dried I stamped some tiny flowers from Stamps by Judith.

I used a stencil from Dylusions-chequered dots-and rubbed over it with Inka Gold Metallic Rub/green yellow. The other stencil is just a piece of needlework canvas I bought at Hobby Lobby. It is done with Tim Holtz Barn door  Distressed Paints and pink acrylic paint.

The bird is KaiserCraft wood flourishes/bird and the patterned paper is DCWV art collage art stack.

 I'm entering my card here:
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Anything Goes
Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge-Not so mellow yellow-Be inspired by yellow (The yellow is in my patterned paper).

Nice job Benzi. Mixing media can be a daunting task. If done right the results can be great. This card is very nice indeed.

Oh My! You're going great guns with this mixed media. This is lovely, and I had such fun, looking at the stenciling, then reading what you used to get the look. Of course you know I love the blue bird, and I'm liking the Inka Gold too. If you have a chance, check out the SMS #97 with the Wink of Luna pens. I think you'll like them! Happy weekend, and TFS this beautiful & beautifully done card! Hugs

Oh! This is rather "atypical" of Miss Benzi. LOVE IT! Such pretty Spring colors, and a delightful scene - especially with the words of the song and story of my life behind the bird. wonderful card, Benzi! xo
