Yellow Lace

I won some wonderful blog candy recently from Mary H at Carolina Cards. The embossing folder I'm using, GooseBumpz Lace (set of 2), and the stamped flower, Stampabilities/Floral Silhouette2,  are part of the goodies she sent me. Thank you so much, Mary.

I did a Ways to Use It challenge, WT519, on Splitcoaststampers this morning. The challenge was to use buttons and lace, faux or real. My lace is faux, using my lace embossing folder. I ran my Tim Holtz Distress Paint in wild honey over it before running it through my Cuttlebug. I love the way it turned out. I am using the white buttons for the centers of the flowers.

I added a sentiment from Mark's Finest Papers and Stamps/Welcome Poppies set.

I cut out the flower and sponged some blue for the sky behind the flower. The frame is a Spellbinders Card Creator A-2 Matting Basics A and I popped it up with mounting tape.

It is so cold here. The deep south should never be this cold. Brrrrrrrrrr   It was supposed to be 8 degrees last night..don't know if it fell that far or not. It is 17 degrees right now. I hate winter!!!!

Oh WOW! I'm so pleased that the blog candy found a wonderful home where it can be used so beautifully. The DI certainly brought out the emboss pattern gorgeously. The dark blue of the flowers is a perfect contrast to the sunny yellow. Love this frame setting too. We are 22 at noon....brrrr. TFS & it's gratifying to see how you've used the supplies. Big Hugs & TFS

This came out beautiful. Love that lace embossing folder. Your buttons look so cute as flower centers. I'm sorry to hear you are having such low temps. I know it is unheard of for the deep south, but I hope you are not looking for sympathy from me. LOL

We will have you beat for low temps. Tomorrow morning and Saturday morning it is suppose to dip to 0° with wind chills in the teens and then Snow, Rain, Ice storm Sunday and then extremely low temps again next week. We have had to resort to removing snow form roofs around here. We have had 5 schools and one Loew's that had roofs collapse within the past three days.
Jack has been raking the snow off of our carport for the past couple of days. This is getting ridiculous. Well what can we do? Not too much just complain. Wishing you a warmer day tomorrow.

I think I must have a mental block of some kind because I can never think to do that with the embossing folder and ink. I love the look! So pretty with the yellow background like that and love your design. VERY nice!
That really is cold for your part of the world! Hope it warms up soon.

I think we need to exchange a little air, it is too warm here, 84 mixed with your 17 could give us both some great weather LOL!!

Stunning, Benzi! Yellow isn't a color I use much but I do love this cards and how you used it. Wonderful design. Grat idea offsetting the flowers from the frame. That's an idea I have to remember. :-D

How wonderful to receive such lovely goodies Brenda and what a pretty card you made with them. That embossing is beautiful and I love the flower posy.
Isn't it funny how we get used the the temperature we expect? Here in England getting a 17 degree day in February would be amazing- we might be that lucky towards the end of March lol!
Keep warm my friend.

What a fantastic look you created ... love it! Great layers!

Lucky you and congrats for winning some blog candy.

Did you all get some snow/ice Friday? We did...took my hubby three hours to get home and part of that was on foot after he had to abandon the car. Wonder if we will get more tonight.
