The Cross-Easter

I went away on a trip last week and had some warmer weather in the 80's for  a few days and missed a lot of icy weather at home. I hope that was the end of winter for us. This week is all rain....EVERY DAY. I need sunshine!!!!!!

My card was made for the CAS315 challenge on Splitcoaststampers. The challenge was to use ribbon. I saw this card on Pinterest and wanted to case it for an Easter card.

I didn't have the purple ribbon so I dyed some with Stampin'Up! Perfect Plum ink. I have no idea why the ribbon looks white on one of the ends because it isn't. I'm thinking it is the cardstock and then the shadow begins????

The embossing folder is by Sizzix/Birds and Wreath set. I cut the cross 1/2" wide. It is popped up and I just placed the ribbon behind it.

My sentiment is from Mark's Finest Papers and Stamps/Blessings

Stunning card, Brenda, and the purple ribbon looks great. Embossing is lovely. We are suppose to hit high 50's today. Let's see if they are correct. Calling for a mix of snow and rain Saturday night. I'm not sure this winter will ever end.

Awesome card Brenda! I love the way you did the cross and the purple ribbon with it! I think the white is just reflection off the ribbon! Glad you got to enjoy some warm weather. It will be in the 90's here by the first of the week!!

Wow! A very beautiful card! Love the embossed white background, cross, and ribbon over the cross! A perfect Easter card! I wish I could say it's 80's here, but it's 40, which is better than 0!:-)

Spectacular, Benzi! I love the way you made the ribbon purple and then got it to 'drape' so beautifully. I'm in awe!

The simple rustic cross is perfect and the ribbon draped over it is beautiful! A perfect Easter card! Hope the sun shines for you tomorrow. These long rainy spells are a bummer but then I think I appreciate the sun more after the rainy days.

This is lovely Brenda. I love the embossing and the cross. Yes I am so tired of the rain around here. I have been battling kidney stones for the last two weeks and between them and the weather I need a pick me up. Sun please come out....lol Hugs, joann

Oh, Brenda, what a beautiful card!! I LOVE the ribbon draped over the cross...yes, He is no longer there! Christ is risen...praise God! I love the CAS card...precious reminder of the true meaning of Easter...Resurrection Sunday!

So sorry you've been having so much rain. Wish you could be here...it's beautiful! Sending warm and sunny hugs, sweet friend!

Love the raised cross design of your card. The shadows are an integral part of the design. That is a shadow under the ribbon. The base of the cross has an almost identical and proportional shadow. Just beautiful Benzi. - Jim

Just WOW, this is so elegant. The ribbon is especially beautiful, representing much of what we see when we're in the church pews :) Gorgeous card, Brenda! ♥
