A New Queen

I had to brag a lot yesterday because it was 83 degrees at my house. Guess what? I cleaned house and made a card and didn't even go outside... until after dark... and it was gorgeous...a ton of sunshine. I must be crazy. Today will be 59 degrees so I've missed out. But, the robins are showing up and that is a great sign. I love when they come because I know Spring is on the way. Of course, that means tornado weather but I'll enjoy what I can.

I'm playing along with the Splitcoaststampers Queen for the Day challenge #101. The new queen is Patricia aka kokirose and she has a super gallery of cards. She does wonderful stitching but you'll notice I have none. My sis gave me a new sewing machine and I never have time to learn to use it. Hope she doesn't want it back...LOL She won't!!! Anyway, this is the card I cased. In't it gorgeous???  I kept Pat's sketch and changed the image, paper, and ribbon. I used die cuts for the greenery instead of stamping.

My image is from Mark's Finest Papers, A Heinrich Company and is called Dogwood Blossoms. I decided to use glossy accents on my blooms and really like it. The paper is MFP, A Heinrich Company premium cardstock in Licorice Whips. My dp is from the scrapbook store with no name on it. The green is from my scraps.

The die I'm using is a Memory Box die called Madera Corner. I die cut and clipped off pieces to use where needed. The ribbon is black gingham check from Offray Ribbon.

Beautiful card, Brenda! I love the colors and the gingham! Pretty blossoms! Wasn't yesterday amazing? Today, not so much, but still can't complain since several of my former homes (MI, MA and RI) will be getting snow! Have a great weekend!

There are those dogwoods again :) Love how you used the orange and black. The gingham paper and bow breaks it up wonderfully with no thoughts of Halloween at all - well done!! I'm jealous with your temps! We may get snow today! As for the sewing machine, don't let Pamzi know LOL!

More pretty dogwoods. I like the shine you put on these. I missed out on a beautiful day busy inside. Now we'll have a couple of cool days before it warms up again. The dogwoods aren't opening up yet but some of the other flowering trees are.

Glad you are getting some signs of spring! It's not too bad here in NW Ohio, it's chilly with 33 degrees. The sun is shining, which helps! Love your card with gingham background and bow. The flowers are very pretty with glossy accents, too! Take care and have a wonderful week, hugs!!:-))

Another beauty from Benzi! Love the color combination and the pretty shine on your flowers! Your bow is perfect too! Wish I could get mine to look half as good as that.

It's another gorgeous day here in the great state of Alabama. I hope you are getting outside today to enjoy it and get some vitamin D. :)

Beautiful card Brenda, such a pretty colour theme. I can't believe you missed your sunny day (in Northern Ireland we call that our 'summer' LOL!) Oh, and if you don't want your sewing machine you know where to send it ;)
