Mother's Magnolias...I feel like I'm in the South using this image..oh, I am! LOL I love this set with the beautiful blooms and sentiments. Magnolias are very well known to the deep South and have a wonderful fragrance. The Southern Magnolia can reach 60 to 80 feet. Just had to add those little tidbits in to my post. This stamp set is great for so many wonderful occasions and I'm going to really enjoy using it.
I colored my image with just a bit of gray shading on the bloom and added glossy accents to the seed pod.
I thought I would show this card, too. I made the top one and noticed a few days later the Spellbinders Lattice rectangle die on my table and thought it would look good over the black panel. It's the same card except for adding the die cut. I took a photo both ways. It's interesting how adding one small thing can change the way a card looks. Which do you like best?

Lovely cards. I think I would have to say that I prefer the second card, even though they are both great.

The black bg really highlights the fabulous image! Love it on the green with the punching!
Two very striking cards! Love your color scheme!

It IS interesting how one thing can change the look... I'm thinking that minus the sentiment the first is very dramatic white on black and would make a lovely sympathy card and the 2nd would be a fun "Hey! How are ya" kind of card!!!
Your flower is amazing!
Brenda,
Both cards are amazing and beautiful. I think the magnolia is such an elegant and regal flower!!
Wow, Brenda - awesome colors; the black just pops that beautiful magnolia on both your cards. Beautiful, GF, beautiful!
Very pretty and feminine.
So striking!!! I think between the two I like the contrast of the first one. Great work! They are both so pretty!
Love the black back. Lovely cards.....Lis
Beautiful card Brenda, I love the colors.
Fabulous creations!
Both versions of your card are gorgeous, Brenda! Wonderful coloring and framing!
2 beautiful looks here Benzi-my fave is the first one -the magnolia looks so striking against a black bg-thanks for a great idea

Love the magnolia image. So stunning against the black. Think I like the first one because of the contrast. Both are lovely and it is amazing how different they are with such a small change.
Wow - placing the flower against the black background really makes it pop!! love it!
Oh my goodness this is BEAUTIFUL!
Brenda, you did an awesome job with coloring the magnolia.I love the shading and highlighting you did on the center of the magnolia. I really like it with the black behind the magnolia, because it really makes it stand out. I was sitting here wondering how it would look if you did the black using the die cut and had white behind it and then put it behind the magnolia. I really like how the lacy look of the die cut looks behind the magnolia. Great job showcasing all the sets this week.
Gorgeous cards--the black really makes the magnolias stand out.
Beautiful card!
Brenda--two gorgeouis cards!!! The layouts are fabulous! TFS
Two gorgeous cards- wow!! I never knew a magnolia grew so tall, and I've never had the pleasure of smelling their sweet aroma either, but I'll just imagine it. I prefer the first card because the black background gives the spotlight to the flower. The die cut is pretty, but for me it somehow distracts my eye from the main image! They're both very pretty though!
These both look great! I'm not sure which way I prefer, maybe with the black backing the magnolia so it stands out more. Either way, they are wonderful!
Ooh, Benzi, adding that diecut was like adding pearls to that little black dress. Soooo pretty both ways.
This is one of the most incredible flowers, Benzi, and you're showcased it to perfection! Love the punched piece and the soft green background. Lovely!
Both cards are stunning; I think I like the first with the black bg. Love the details and colors. Thanks for sharing.
Brenda- both are gorgeous cards, but the first one is stunning!
WOW! Both are stunning!
How beautiful! I love the high contrast!

Wowee girl, you've been a busy bee this week!
Love your pretty magnolia cards, hard to pick a fave, but I think I prefer the white flower on the black BG ... these would make beautiful sympathy cards too.
Have a great weekend!
Gorgeous cards! You showcased both of them very well using black! Love the flower focal point! You did a marvelous job with these cards, Benzi! Take care and have a wonderful weekend, hugs!!:-))
Brenda, I have something special for you check out my blog http://djchrist71.blogspot.com/2012/03/liebster-blog-award.html
Hi Benzi! I'm back! Mom went home yesterday. It sure was nice to spend time with her. :)
These magnolia cards are GORGEOUS! My fave is the top one, with black behind the flower. It gives it such panache, and really highlights the big blossom.
Brenda Both of these are really Gorgeous!! I love the pretty Magnolia cut out and the petty lacy bg with them.
Gosh I haven't commented for a bit but I have been enjoying all your lovely cards nonetheless. This is beautiful!!! Especially love the second one. LOVE that magnolia!
Hugs
