White Poinsettia and a Cute Photo

Rain, rain, go away. Two days of rain makes me a bit depressed. Then again, it is nice on these dark days to light a candle with a nice Christmas scent and turn on the Christmas tree lights.

My card fits several challenges today. It is to honor the Queen for the Day  #193 on Splitcoaststampers.  It is Gail aka GailNM. Gail made the most gorgeous card and I would really love to make a gingham poinsettia as she did here. I just need the perfect papers.

I didn't use Gail's sketch, just used a poinsettia as she did. I don't know the name of the embossing folder or metallic cardstock. My sis gave it to me. I sanded the red cardstock and it brought out some of the white.
I stamped some dots on the poinsettia after embossing the blooms  with some frosty embossing ink (which is showing) , added some gemstones and it was finished.

My card also fits The Corrosive Challenge Blog-Happy Holidays
Jellypark Friends Friday Challenges-Month long Christmas theme
Simon Says Wednesday Challenge-Make your own background-Mine has been embossed on metallic cardstock and sanded to bring out white areas

I've never shown any photos of my sweet grandchildren on my blog. My daughter-in-law sent me this one last night. It was made last Saturday while we were visiting them over the Thanksgiving holidays and I got permission from them to put it on my blog. It was made somewhere on a bridge.  He's such a cutie and sweetie. Wouldn't I think so? :-)  Look which photo I made larger...the card or this one. Ha

Your metallic card is gorgeous!! I love the embossing and sanding you've done - but then I got side-tracked with the photo of your precious DGS! He's really a handsome young lad, and I love the backdrop for the photo! Precious! TFS!

Your card is gorgeous, Brenda! Love the sanded metallic card and the beautiful poinsettia! Darling pic of your grandson! He is adorable! Hope the rain stops there. The thunder woke me last night, too. It has rained here, but not non-stop. I think we'll get that this weekend!

Hallo Brenda,

First, the card: This is so stunning. And you photographed it so well (I have a scheduled one that didn't show up that well!). I'm loving this red metallic - is it perhaps a Shimmerz sheet? Your poinsettia is just gor-jus! Love it! A truly beautiful card.
2nd. That is some cutie of a grandboy. You can just see the joy glowing from his sweet smile, and I can totally understand it would be so hard to leave him. I'd have been tempted to sneak him home with me!!! Hope you're safe from the ice belt, and we've had the glooms all week. I'm being thankful it is just gloomy, not icy, cause we've had the ice storms in the past. No fun. I feel for those who lose power too. Again, not a fun situation. TFS - both card & the sweetie. Hugs

Stunning card and gorgeous grandson, Benzi ! I'm not sure which is the most inspirational but I would have enlarged the grandson over any card of mine. lol However, I adore the way you did the background on the card. It just makes that white poinsettia pop off the card!
