Splat, Splat

I made this card for the  2014 CAS Design Team Search-week #2-on Splitcoaststampers. This time it was a color challenge. My card was easy and fun using a Tim Holtz splattered layering stencil. I sponged it with VersaMagic chalk ink in Sage.

My star was cut with a Momenta Cut & Emboss star die . I'm using a scrap cardstock in lavender.
The cardstock for the base is Stampin'Up! Chocolate Chip and I'm using PTI white cardstock for stamping and sponging my image.

I stamped some dots with a Stamps by Judith peg. The sentiment is Big Wishes II from Inspired by Stamping.

We had a pretty snow yesterday. It wasn't much but covered everything. It melted during the day as the temps rose. More snow is predicted for today, one to three inches. I'm excited because we'll get to see it come down. It seems it usually snows more in the night here in my part of the southern U.S. Unfortunately, I think we'll have ice, also.

I LOVE that star with the embossing! And you've used these colors so well! That stencil is in a cart and will hopefully be on it's way next week. Our snows have been coming at night too so I'm excited to actually see it snowing during the day. I'm not looking forward to the ice and all the problems it causes. Stay safe and warm.

Fantastic CAS card, Brenda! Love the splat and dots! Hope the snow is just pretty and doesn't cause you any problems. The kids have been out of school for two days here with the threat of freezing rain. None so far, though.

Brenda, I love the way you used that stencil!! Great "splats" and a great card. Really like the color combo too. Fantastic CAS card!

Stay safe in all that horrible weather. Hope the worst of it misses you.

Wonderful CAS card, Brenda. Those colours look so pretty together. I took a day off today and spent quite a bit of time sitting in front of the house (in addition to some crafting and blogging inside the house). Here on Crete, it felt like summer today, with a glorious 22 °C, which is a more normal temperature for April and would be considered high summer in the Netherlands. Stay safe and warm!

You are on a ROLL with the CAS Design Team search, aren't you?? This is another fantastic creation. I think you nailed it!! I love your fun image grouping.

We have a storm warning for Thursday into Friday morning. The snowfall forecast for our region has been changing all day long. At one point it was down to 2-4" and now it's back up to 5-10" with gusty winds. I don't know whether to expected an early morning call cancelling school tomorrow or not!! Further inland and further to the north they are calling for 12-16". It sounds like it's been difficult to predict where the rain/snow line is going to fall. So, we may be in for an exciting ride tomorrow!!

Oooo, this is terrific, Benzi! I love that 'splat.' Had I not seen your card, I never would have thought that such a thing would work on a card. Well done and thanks for the inspiration. :-D

Oh, very nice! Love that TH stencil, and think I have it ordered - from somebody! Some of these places are taking too long to ship and I forget what I asked for! One just arrived after 2 months wait (had the S/B) and I'm doubting I order from there again. Love the colors you have on this one,and those peg stamps are wonderful. Don't have any of those. We have sun & things are melting, but I just cancelled a haircut for tomorrow. Not sure the roads will be what this ole lady wants to chance. Cancelled the cut from last wk as it really didn't need it just then, so I will be a shaggy dog by the time I get in again. Better rain than sleet I guess, as long as you're not getting the floods I'm seeing our UK buddies having. TFS & Big Hugs

A gorgeous birthday card! Love that embossed star and elegant sentiment! The weather started warming up here. Maybe we will have a reprieve from the bitter cold and snow!:-) Take care, hugs!

Great CAS card Brenda! I love that green splat combined with the elegant script of the sentiment - works really well. Glad you are enjoying the snow - we didn't get any here (and I am glad). Hugz!

I like the look of the splash. I've seen a few cards with it and it always looks pretty cool. You card is definitely enabling me...love it!

I am loving all this snow! We got at least 6 inches! Yesterday Bethany and I went sledding. We live on a mountain so didn't have to walk far to find the perfect spot. I haven't done that in so long and it was so much fun. My shoulders are a little sore today...lol. Hope you all got to enjoy it too!

A rockin awesome cas card! I didn't think you would get snow where you live. Have a happy Valentines day my friend!!

What a great CAS design, good for a guy or a gal.

We had 10" inches of snow at our house yesterday, and the kids had a snow day. Hubby worked from home, too. It sure was pretty, and already started melting today. Next week, it's supposed to be almost 60 degrees one day!

If you lived closer I would corner you to teach me how to simplify my cards and create the beauties you do! This just beautiful. I really like the different splattered layering you did and the colors too!
