CASology Wants a Shoe

Squeaking a card in again for the CASology challenge #12. It's been a busy week of blog hops for me. This week's challenge has the cue word as shoe.

I got out my 'girly all the way' cowgirl boots and whipped up a card this morning. These CAS cards just don't take too long. I did this while hubby while still in the bed snoozing. Of course, I've been up since about 3:00 a.m. Is it a full moon or what? LOL I was up at around 2:00 the night before. Ugh!

I love this stamp set called Autumn Splendor. It has the cutest images and they're great for Fall, Halloween, Thanksgiving, or just for a fun card to put a smile on someone's face.

My card is very simple. I used the Spellbinders classic large oval nestabilitie and stamped the image inside after embossing. I colored with Copics and added a little shading with my C1 Copic marker. The sentiment and three rhinestones finished it off.

It's time to hop over to Toni's blog now and see what delightful creation she has today.

CCEE Stampers/Make Your Own Background

Sabrina Friel gave us another awesome challenge over at CCEE Stampers this week. It is to make your own background paper. Let me tell you, I had fun with this one and really like the results for my Fall card.

To make the background, I started with a piece of  PTI white cardstock and used Tim Holtz Distress Ink in crushed olive, rusty hinge, and mustard seed. I crumpled my paper, smeared the ink on the paper, sprayed a mist of water on the paper and crumpled again. That's it! Very simple.

The stamps I'm using are Hero Arts/Real Leaves and Sweet 'n Sassy Poppies and Greetings for the sentiment. The inks used on the leaves are Memento Bamboo Leaves and Potter's Clay, and Tim Holtz Distress Ink mustard seed. I managed to ink the stamp in the different colors.  The sentiment is Memento Rich Cocoa.  I added some rust raffia and gold metal brads and it's finished.

I had so much fun making this card. There are so many wonderful images for Halloween. I made my moon by using a circle punch and placing yellow cardstock behind the black cardstock. The branch is a die cut and the dead grass is a Martha Stewart grass punch.

This is the perfect stamp set for making my little grandson a birthday card. He is so into pirates. For  his third birthday I made him a treasure chest and put some maps/treasures inside. I am using a piece cut off one of the canvas-type maps on this card which he will receive for his next birthday. The flag pole is part of a pirate ship die cut and I stamped the trunk again and cut out the skull to place on the flag. The canvas fabric for the sentiment came from Hobby Lobby. I've distressed around the image by curling/tearing some of the paper and inking with Distress Inks. The only coloring was the compass rose.

FOSTV-Tags and Tickets

The Friends of Speedy TV  challenge 39 is Tags and Tickets. I decide to put mine on a card. I had the smaller tag and thought to make it really pop out, I would cut a larger one with a bright background and place under it. The Fall leaves are from Mark's Finest Papers and Stamps, A Heinrich Co. and the set I used is called Autumn Glory and for the sentiment I used a set called Island Life.

My small ticket at the top of the card is a freebie from Scrap-A-Licious Times and is a digital image. My designer paper is MME Paper Pad called Sunshine. I'm using MFP cardstock, Orangie Sunset and Chipboard.

Hope you'll come over to Speedy TV and join our challenge this week. Here is the stamp set being given to some lucky winner this week, Island Life.
