Fall is Just Around the Corner

Have you felt the nip in the air yet? I sure have. The mornings are really cooler and my hubby and I were out for a walk tonight and it felt really nice. I know Fall won't be too much longer. I know probably most of you will be glad, but I won't. I do love summer no matter how hot it gets. Just call me crazy.

Just the same, I wanted to do a Fall creation for the new Queen for the Day on Splitcoaststampers. I have been mostly concentrating on Christmas cards and don't need to get too far ahead, I suppose.

The new Queen is Cindy aka YLM and this is her card that I chose to case. Don't you just love her pumpkins? I think I need them. LOL  You can see the changes I made.  I inked my embossing folder with gray ink before running it through my Cuttlebug. After that, the vines were stamped. The pumpkins were colored with Copics, cut out, and placed. My leaves are from a new garland punch I bought. Leaves were added and it is finished.

I think this will be my last card until Monday. Have a great weekend.

CCEE Stamper-Paper Piecing

Funny thing about my card...this week Anne Harmon gave the CCEE Stampers challenge to do paper piecing. I started my card and left it on my craft table for about two weeks before finishing it. By that time, I was thinking the challenge was paper piercing so I did that. I checked the challenge and was safe, though, because I had paper pieced the ornament earlier as I should. Whew!

I stamped my ornament on white and then again on  the same designer paper as I'm using in the background. It had this little girl sledding down a hill. I covered it will glossy accents and added the chain for it to hang.

I crimped a tree that I punched and added a punched star. The rest was easy...turned down a corner of my dp, added a sentiment and some bling, and that's it!

We hope you'll join us this week.

CASology-Green is the Word

The CASology cue card for challenge #7 says to use green this week. Now, that I've gotten to the point that I absolutely love CAS cards, I just had to play.

My tree was punched three times and I layered two of the trees on each side of the back of the main tree to leave an edge of white and make the tree pop off the dp background. The tree was sponged only on the outer edges of the top tree.

FOSTV-Beach Theme

Good Monday Morning..can Mondays ever be good? Hmmmmm.....I think so if you had a bad weekend. No, no....I didn't. I went on a day trip out of town and went to one of my favorite scrapbook stores. The store really has the coolest and most up to date crafty items. You just can't leave without buying something, usually too much. You know, it really adds up in a hurry.

Friends of Speedy TV is going with a beach theme this week. Instead of just a card, I thought I would make a box and some 3 x 3 note cards just for sending out a quick thank you or just to say hi. This project was made with  three of Mark's Finest Papers and Stamps, A Heinrich Co. sets. They are Silly Shells, Flamingos on Vacation, and Oh, Crab.

My box is made using a Sizzix Box with Scallop Flap and Flowers/Scoreboards Die. The lid is covered with paper from a DCWV Textured cardstock Travel Stack. The cardstocks are from Mark's Finest Papers and Stamps, Aqua Lt., Florida Peach, and Wind Willow. The button is La Mode from Jo Ann Stores.

We hope you'll play along with us this week. We have a great stamp set to be won this week called Background Fun. Wish I could win it as I don't have it..but, I can't. :-)
