Set Sail-Challenges

Ooh, a long weekend for some..hope you're enjoying it. Hubby and I worked in the yard this morning and a little in the afternoon...until we were too tired. Guess where I went immediately when I was through.....yep, the craft room.

I noticed that Joanne at Crazy 4 Challenges-C4C89 wanted a card showing a favorite vacation spot or activity. I don't know which of us likes the ocean better....so I jumped right in and made a card showing a sailboat on the seas.

2 Sisters Challenge Blog #41is Anything Goes
Tuesday Throwdown #50 is use stripes

These are all fun challenges and I also noticed the Inspiration Challenge IC286 today on Splitcoaststampers was inspired by a website called Plate and Napkins, a party supply store.
This is my inspiration.

Hisbiscus

Another Friday and it is time or a new QFTD on Splitcoaststampers. This week it is Pam aka bailmac.
Here is the card I cased. My image was too large to slant like hers.  I do love how she used her spiral punch.
My card was also for the Free for All challenge on SCS. It was Anything Goes with a twist to use something that is a freebie. Mine was the designer paper from a paper pad given to me by my sister.

I'm using a Kitchen Sink Stamp-3 step hibiscus. Absolutely love it!!

Stampin'B's-collage- Hope you like Nursery Rhymes

This may not be what Vicky Gould of the Stampin' B's Design Team had in mind when she asked us to do a collage card this week, but my collage took on the nursery rhyme theme. I have five Stampabilites nursery rhyme theme stamps and had used only one, so here was my chance. Humpty Dumpty is maybe my favorite because of a childhood memory. My brother had a humpty dumpty and when you turned the handle,  it said the rhyme...Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall.......I loved it!

I am hoping one of my little grandchildren will be fascinated with this. I may have to make a couple more.
Oh, it's not Toy Story or Cars, etc. so they may have never heard of these nursery rhymes. LOL

Hope you'll join us this week or the 'collage' theme. Just use the inlinkz tool to link on our blog above.

Challenges I'm entering:
Paper Sundaes #70-Pop it Up! I popped up several of my images.

Tip Top Tuesday #35- Use 2 or more stamps on your creation Tip: Never leave your embossing tool plugged in after using. Mine was in a chair turned off, fell to the floor and hit on the 'turn-on- button and came on. If papers had been close by and I had not been in the room, they would have possibly caught on fire.
I Did it Creations-#56-Anything Goes

Toy Story featuring Buzz Lightyear

Just a quick post. I made this card a while back and never posted. I thought there may be a few Buzz Lightyear fans around. My two little grandsons (2yrs. old) think he is tops! They have watched Toy Story over and over and over.

I masked for the moon, sponged the night sky, punched out some stars and rockets and that's about it.

Recipe:
Stamps: EK Success Toy Story (Found at Hobby Lobby)
Paper:  PTI white cardstock, Toy Story Silhouette- (cut out), Disney Toy Story, scraps
Ink: Memento Paris Dusk, Summer Sky, and Potter's Clay
Accessories: Spellbinders nested pennants, Copics, Martha Stewart rocket punch, EK Success starry night edger punch, SU 1 1/4" circle punch for masking

Flourishes Timeless Tuesday #119

This week's Flourishes Timeless Tuesday challenge #119 (FTTC119) is hosted by Dee Jackson and she asked that we make a box or a bag or use something pre-made. I love the pre-made paper mache boxes at Hobby Lobby and chose to purchase one of those. I picked up some Ceramcoat acrylic paint in light ivory to paint the box. I then added the beautiful image from the Flourishes Birds and Vines stamp set.
I think this would be perfect to place a lovely gift inside.

The picture below shows the image better. I have used used the Spellbinders Grand Nestabilites Labels 4 to cut the dies and then stamped  my image with Memento Tuxedo Black.  I've used a QuicKutz die to cut out and layer my butterfly. The top layer of the butterfly is black and I cut out a bottom layer with Spellbinders premium craft foil in gold. I added a wide, black satin ribbon to finish (picture above).

Making cards was not included in the challenge but I thought I would make a few CAS cards. The two cards on the right are using the same stamp set as the box. The card on the left has an image from the Flourishes stamp set Swan Lake.  The sentiments I used on all three cards are from the Flourishes Humming Along stamp set.  I really love the classy look in the vintage cream and white, paired with black.
You'll want to check out the blog team designers cards and you need to check out the rules to be eligible to win the prize.
