4 Crafty Chicks Challenge, Queen for the Day, Old Churches

I love old churches and I when I am on trips I always take my camera to get pictures of  the churches and their cemeteries. Maybe one day I can write a book about them and show my photos. LOL For anyone interested, I am going to show you just one. I am showing and telling  a bit of the history behind it...you know, 'show & tell.
My card today is for the Queen for the Day on Splitcoaststampers. This challenge is posted every Friday and this person will remain Queen for the rest of the week until another one is appointed. Today it is Hilda aka Broom. I cased one of her adorable 'mouse' cards. I am still into making Christmas cards so I changed my image from a mouse (Hilda's) to a house...church house, that is. I guess my love for old churches inspired me to buy this stamp. I really love it.

I am entering my card into the 4 Crafty Chicks challenge-Use die cuts or punches

Now to show my church and cemetery that I came upon as I was coming home from Orange Beach, AL
This church is located 8 miles east of Demopolis, AL. It is a Carpenter Gothic style built in 1873 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in Nov., 1973 and declared a National Landmark at the same time.

Five Challenges-Thanksgiving

I can tell Thanksgiving is on the way. We had rain finally this week (along with some really, nasty tornado type weather). We were desperate for rain and now that it has come, the leaves are beginning to really show their beautiful,  Autumn colors.
As hostess this week of the Stampin B's Design Team, I gave the challenge to make a Thanksgiving card/project using pumpkin images. I just love pumpkins and going to the pumpkin patch. Aren't they great for little ones...all kinds of rides, face painting, games galore, and choosing just the right pumpkin/pumpkins
.
If you choose to upload to Splitcoaststampers, put in the keyword StampinB.

This was my first tent card and it was really fun. I found the tutorial on Splitcoaststampers. It is in the resource section. I did a search for 'tent cards' and found the instructions. I stamped my pumpkins, water colored them, cut out,  and attached one inside. I made my cut out and frame with two circle nestabilities, one just a size larger than the other.

Other challenges I'm entering with this card:
A Spoonfull of Sugar #127 Let's Get Punchy - use die cuts or punches
Paper Garden Projects  Fourth Friday Challenge - Holiday Cards
Tip Top Tuesday #7  Anything Goes Challenge

Also, I'm in a fun group on Splitcoaststampers called Punchkateers and we have decided to start having challenges. This is the 2nd one and it is to use die cuts or punches. So, this card fits that challenge perfectly.

Stamps: Stampin'Up! Autumn Harvest
Paper: Stampin'Up! Chocolate Chip, K&CO Specialty Paper-Fall Harvest, Canson watercolor paper
Accessories: Two sizes of  Spellbinder's Circle Nestabilities, Tombow markers, Brad is Recollections

Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge, Papertake Weekly Challenge

I'm really getting my Christmas cards made by doing these challenges. What a relief it will be to have them made before it is time for all of them to be put in the mail. I wish the sparkle would show in this blog photo like it did when I had it in my photo software. Shows up better in my Splitcoaststampers gallery. Have a tip, anyone? It's a shame because this card is really all aglow.  I'm using a sketch from Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge  #20 to make my card (shown below).

I also am entering my card into the Papertake Weekly Challenge which is Sparkly and Bright. I think my card qualifies with all the gold embossing and glittery ribbon.

Recipe: Stamp: Penny Black Xmas Light
            Stampin'Up! Holiday Happiness (sentiment)
Paper: Stampin'Up! Night of Navy, PTI white cardstock
Accessories: Cuttlebug textile embossing folder, Versa Mark Dazzle-Frost, gold embossing glitter, Stampin'Up! oval punch, miscellaneous glitter sheer ribbon

Speedy's Friends #26, Featured Stamper

I've gotten back from church and just couldn't wait to make a card for two challenges today. One is for Speedy the Cat's Friends Challenge#26 and for the Featured Stamper on Splitcoaststampers, Lynette aka LynniePoo. What a wonderful gallery of cards to choose from to do a case.
Speedy Friends challenge is to use a punch or die cut. Yes, that is easy peasy and fun!!!

I love Christmas oranments and I have an ornament punch I'm enjoying using for this card. Each ornament was punched twice and put two together of the same for dimension.  My ornament hangers are gold braid from Flower Soft..love it, and it is so easy to work with. The hard part of my card was adding those tiny, gold specks of braid left over from peeling off my ornament hangers from the package. They probably aren't really meant to used but I thought they made my ornaments much more elegant and decorative.
