Tulips Are My Favorite

I'm here with a short post today. I made a card for the Queen for the Day #155 on Splitcoaststampers. The Queen is DJRants and she has a super gallery of cards. I was on a Design Team with DJ and saw all her beautiful work each week.

I am doing a case of this card. I knew when I saw the tulips it was the card I wanted to case because they are my favorite flower. I actually was able to use my craft knife to cut the inside part of the flower and that is something I find very hard to do. Got it done and I'm happy! :-) The rest of the cutting of the tulip was done with my scissors.

I'm entering my card into these challenges: 4 Crafty Chicks challenge  #132-Die for Dies
Delicious  Doodles Challenges-(where my friend NanaConnie is a new DT) Use die cuts

I think this is it for me this week. Hope everyone has a fabulous weekend. If  my sister comes to visit me next week, I will probably be gone most of the week. So, I'll see you all soon.

A Single Rose

This is my second post for today. My CCEE Stampers post is one down.

I have had men working in my house yesterday and today so what better time to make a card and play in some challenges. But, I'll sure be glad when they are gone. I'm finally getting my backsplash tiles for the kitchen. Yes, I've had it! All this work has been going on since, I believe, last Spring.

I wanted to do the tutorial found at by Inspired by Stamping-WHW#92. It is a tute by my pal, Colleen Dietrich at Detrich Designs. It is all about Decorating Buttons. I used an IBS image from Small Fancy Labels 1 to stamp on my green cardstock for the button cover.  I stamped the image a few times and just punched out with a 3/4" punch to fit over the same size button and glued it on.  It is best to use a flat button. Oh, and I used a paper piercer to punch the holes .  You can add glossy accents and some twine to run through the holes if you like. I made 4 or 5 buttons and ended up only using one...can save the others for another card.  My sentiment is from Inspired by Stamping/Flowers Bloom.

My sketch is from Splitcoaststampers, Sketch SC426.

The pretty patterned paper is Botanical Collection bought in a 6 x 6 stack pad from Hobby Lobby. It has such pretty matching papers. My white cardstock is PTI  and the rest of the cardstock is just scraps with no name.

I didn't color my rose, instead just cutting out and placing on the Spellbinders circle and scallop  circle nestabilie.

I'm entering my card into the Simon  Says Stamp challenge blog this week-in honor of St. Patrick's Day, use a bit o' green.

Glad you came by and hope you have a good rest of the week....even if you are in piles of snow. We are supposed to be in the low 70's Saturday and Sunday. Guess who is happy about that?

Remembering Eyelets

CCEE1310
It's been forever since I have use eyelets and it is fun to try them again. Charlene Merrick is the hostess for the month of March at CCEE Stampers and gave the challenge this week, The Eyes Have It-use eyelets in your design.

I decided to play with my burlap and smeared on some Liquitex Modeling Paste just for a little interest. On top of that, I used a Cute Circles set by Inspired by Stamping to make a tag and for the sentiment. I should have used another eyelet to run my raffia hanger through but forgot. I have used three eyelets, two yellow and the orange one at the top is an eyelet.

I had a great time making this card and we hope you'll join us at CCEE Stampers and make your own card using eyelets.

Paper-PTI white cardstock, SU Cherry Cobbler, 6x6 paper pad/Jillibean Soup-Blossom Soup

Because..............

Holy Moly, I spent the day on this card. I first started trying to use a certain sketch and took so much time with it. Shame on me because in the end I didn't like it one bit and had to start over in a completely different direction. Guess what else...I have taken sooooooooo many photos. Every time I got one I liked, I would see a speck of glitter somewhere on the card. I should have just given up. LOL

I am just thinking how clean my craft room was when I started and now it is completely wrecked.

I made my card for the Inspired By Stamping challenge--IBSIC#48. I have fallen in love with their stamps and use them quite often.  My sentiment is from IBS and is called Flowers Bloom.

This is my inspiration photo. What a wonderful sight. I was inspired by the colors and pretty flowers.

The fern die is a Spellbinders Shapeabilities Foliage set and the window which I am just using as  lattice is from Cheery Lynn Designs/A2 Frame die small.

My paper is PTI white cardstock and Stampin'Up Pretty in Pink and Sage Shadow. I'm thinking the green isn't right but mine had the name sage in it so I went with it.   The patterned paper is an unknown scrap. I wish my pink was lighter but I ruined the only light piece I had with the first attempt. Ugh!  My flower is a Prima and I'm  thinking looking a bit large. One of those days!!! You know you've had them.  Right??  :-)

My card is also entered into The  Crafty Bloggers Network Challenge Blog-#9 where the theme is Spring or Pastel.
