Stampin B's Design Team challenge

It has stormed and turned cold this week. I will freeze until May. I'll be wearing my Cuddl Dud tops every day to stay warm. If my arms get cold, I'm a goner. It will be a long winter for me. I guess you wouldn't believe me if I told you I wear them in the summer, also (inside). Yes, it is true. LOL

This week's Stampin B's Design Team challenge is a color challenge, use purple and turquoise and something shiny or sparkly. This was truly a challenge for me. I wanted to make a Christmas card and things weren't working so well. But, I found this designer paper with purplish/lavendar trees on it and used  SU's Perfect Plum and a Tempting Turquoise layer. I promise the ornament on the left was Perfect Plum until I embossed it with VersaMark and glitter embossing powder. It turned more blue. My shiny part is the gold trees. They really have a pretty sheen to them. And, my gold Flower Soft braid has a nice, gold luster. Also, the gold ornament paper has some pretty beads on it. Looks like I got it covered.

My time is short and I don't even have time to enter into any more challenges. I'm going farther South this weekend and am really busy getting ready for the trip.

QFTD37, Cute Card Thursday, Christmas Stampin', Ellephantastic Card and Crafts Challenge Blog

Rain, rain, go away....or not. Really, I am enjoying it. I think it rained heavy all night and will probably rain all  day. That makes for a good craft day. Eek! I really need to be doing other things. I'm sure you know how it is. LOL
I'm making my card for four challenges:

QFTD #37 on Splitcoaststampers- The Queen is Kathy aka CAKath and here is the card I cased.

Cute Card Thursday #140 Revisit a previous challenge What a fun challenge! I went far back to their first challenge of 2009, #42 (no title) but the challenge was to use something on your card you got for Christmas or something you bought for yourself over the holidays. I bought this embossing folder over the holidays last year.

Christmas Stampin' All Year Long- #72  Anything Goes

Ellephantastic Cards and Crafts Challenge Blog  #20-Red and Green and/or St. Andrew's Day

I love how the new Punch All Over the Page looks. I stamped the holly, cut out, embossed, and used stickles on the berries. Punched the bell and added stickles to the top and bottom  of the bell (which I don't think shows). Embossed the folder and that's it!
Recipe:
Stamps: Mark's Finest Papers-Snowman Country (sentiment), Stamps Happen-Swirl of Holly
Paper: Stampin'Up! Cherry Cobbler and Old Olive, PTI white cardstock
Accessories: Martha Stewart-Punch All Over the Page, The Paper Studio bell punch, VersaMark Dazzle-Frost, Xmas red stickles for holly berries and part of bell, Cuttlebug embossing folder - Baubles and Bows

Speedy's Friends challenge #31, EtsyInpsired Challenge #116

I am having so much fun making Christmas cards. My hubby is outside doing some Christmas decorating. I got  two trees up and have managed to do a few other arrangements. I need to do my mantle really soon so I can enjoy it for a few more weeks. Unfortunately, the dread of taking it all down and cleaning is with me as I decorate. I really need to get over that.

I have made my card for two challenges:
Speedy the Cat's Friends challenge #31 at Mark's Finest Papers -have a bow on your card (mine is fake (punched)) but a bow just the same)

EtsyInspired Challenge #116 We are to be inspired from paintings and creations  from Heartsong
I was inspired by the awesome blue colors and the bird from Evening Song shown below:

I decided to try a Folded Paper Frame which I really love to frame the dove. I thought the musical paper would be perfect for the dove as birds, even doves sing/coo.
I stamped the dove 3 times, cut out and popped each with dimensionals after stamping each one with VersaMark Dazzle and clear embossing glitter, heating.
The snowflake was punched 3 times, glittered,  and embossed.
I added glitter and chunky Twinklet Diamond Dust to the outer white part of the frame.
The cardstock under my patterned paper and the bow are blue, although it may look black. No matter what I did, the dark, All Night Navy showed up very dark in the photo.

Recipe:
Stamps: Hobby Lobby Christmas 2009 set called Peace & Joy (Made for Hobby Lobby)
Paper: Bo Bunny Snowy Serenade Serenity (glitter series), Stampin'Up! All Night Navy, PTI white cardstock, Stampin'Up! Not Quite Navy for dove, Stampin'Up! Baja Breeze
Ink: Stampin'Up! All Night Navy
Accessories: VersaMark Dazzle-Frost, Martha Stewart Polar Stamp and Punch for snowflake, Twinklets Diamond Dust, Martha Stewart ribbon bow punch, blue gemstone, Stampin'Up! Dazzling Diamonds
