Butterfly Among the Flowers

Whoa! Lots of blue here. I love this big butterfly among the flowers. I did this card for the Queen for the Day challenge on Splitcoaststampers. I cased this gorgeous card belong to Jay_Bee: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/2323931?&cat=500&ppuser=132530 I added a flourish at the bottom as she had flourishes on her background.

The card was really easy. I had colored it a while back so all I had to do was pop it on the base and add the sentiment and flourish. It did take a while to color, though.

I have to take off for another week or two. Yep, I know I was just off for a while. I'll be back soon. This will probably be last card for a bit, though.

Hollyhocks by the Fence

I made a card today for the DirtySpiesJuly14 challenge on Splitcoaststampers. To enter, you should find a birthday/party card from a Dirty Dozen, current or past. This is the card I cased:  http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/2165342?&si=MakiJ  Her card is beautiful.

I'm using a new hollyhock die, a new fence die, and a grass punch. I stamped clouds in the background. The gingham ribbon is threaded through the die.

I made my card as a side opener which I don't really like to make. But, I was trying to accomodate the tall hollyhocks. I did finally cut some of them off, though.

Recipe:
Stamps-Sweet 'n Sassy/Poppies & Greetings, Stampscapes clouds (cumulus)
Paper-PTI white cs, Stampin'Up! old olive
Ink- Memento Tuxedo Black and Bamboo Leaves, VersaMagic Aegean Blue
Accessories-Impression Obsession die/hollyhock, Impression Obsession die/lg fence, Martha Stewart edge punch/grass, Spellbinder Lattice Rectangle and circle die, Copics, red and white gingham ribbon, Copics

Help a Blogging Pal

One of my wonderful blogging pals, Donna, at Creative Smiles asked me if I would post this message on my blog. Donna is one of the most caring people on this earth. I told her I would be glad to post it. It will be here for a few days. Here goes:

A Big Favor - Pretty Please?

Hello, dear blogging friends.

One of our blogging-paper-crafting-friends, Sue Drees, recently shared some sad news.

Her sister fell on June 22, and was diagnosed with a brain tumor. On June 25, the tumor was successfully removed. However, the biopsy brought back devastating news - a fast growing Brain Cancer. Sue's sister is determined to fight this all the way. She began physical rehabilitation on July 4.

Sue and her sister Edith live in the North East (USA). Sue and her husband transport Edith's husband to the hospital each day and check up on changes and quality of care.

While Sue did not ask for help, I've kept in touch with her and asked if Edith would enjoy receiving cards of encouragement and support.

Sue was so grateful that the on-line community might help in this way - it was something she had not considered.

Edith enjoys Quilting and LOVES flowers! Edith's beloved fur child is a little pug, and both miss each other very much.
Will you please consider sending a note, tag, or card (or two or three? LOL) offering encouragement? Edith valiantly fights other illnesses in addition to this new challenge. She is a very courageous soul.

Cards can be sent addressed to Edith c/o Sue and she will take them daily to the hospital.

Thank you for making a difference in one person's life, by bringing in a little sunshine.

UPDATES WILL BE POSTED CONTINUALLY AND KEPT IN A TAB AT THE TOP OF MY BLOG. Thanks again.

love,
