QFTD59-Faith aka Markie's Mom

Today's Queen for the Day on Splitcoaststampers is Faith aka Markie's Mom and owner of Mark's Finest
Papers. Who doesn't love her cards? I am on the Stampin' B's Design team with her...where does she get all her energy? If you know her, you know she is involved in so many things involving stamping.  I needed to do something fast today so I chose this pretty CAS card of Faith's, plus it is great for a sympathy.

I kept her layout and used a different image from MFP's than Faith. She used a plaid embossing folder and I used a plaid edge punch. I just made a small sentiment piece..no tools involved, and sponged the edges.

No time to do any other challenges today, boo hoo. It's a very busy day for me. Thanks for stopping by..see ya soon and have a great weekend!

Stampin' B's - Flower Soft

Faith/Markie's Mom is hostess this week for the Stampin' B's Design Team and asked that we make a card using Flower Soft and liquid applique or glitter. I am not sure you can even see my Flower Soft. It is the yellow (which doesn't show) and reddish color in the small flowers. I used Stickles for the glitter-butterfly and fairy wings.
We hope you'll join us this week. If so, use the inlinkz tool to link your card.

I am using a stamp by Studio 18 (I think from the $ bin at Michael's). I embossed all my layers and the doily with the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder. Colored with Copics, added the Flower Soft, made a stick pin, used a gingham ribbon, punched and stickled a butterfly, and added pearls. I'm using the Martha Stewart Laurel Leaf punch.

I am entering my cards into a few challenges:

Sparkles Forum Challenges #10-Anything Goes
Let's Ink it Up #14-Embellish It (no digis)
One Stitch at a Time #60-Emboss It!

Recipe:
Stamps: Studio 18-no name

Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories: Martha Stewart Laurel Leaf punch, Wilton doily, Martha Stewart classic butterfly punch, stick pin made from beads at Jo-Ann Stores, Purple glitter glue (stickles), pearls

QFTD58 and challenges-CAS

The QFTD58 on Splitcoaststampers is Anne aka jdmommy. I was Queen last week and now I have to hand the crown over. I wanted to honor Anne by case-ing this beautiful, bird card. I love her image but didn't have it so I used a butterfly silhouette stamp from A Muse Artstamps called Flutterby Flock. I added a sentiment, punched a border from a Martha Stewart flower patch punch, and added a couple of red rhinestones. Red is Anne's favorite color.

Other challenges I'm entering:
Flutterby Wednesday #153 - Use a butterfly, fairy, or angel
Claudia and  Co.   challenge #81-butterflies
Papertake Weekly Challenge-Anything Goes

Flourishes Timeless Tuesday--Guest Designer

I was so excited over Easter weekend because Tammy Hershberger and the talented team at Flourishes Timeless Tuesday  blog challenge  asked me to be Guest Designer for the month of May. I have been so anxious for the time to come when I could do my first challenge. Thanks so much for this wonderful opportunity.
I had the privilege last summer, while in Pensacola,  to visit Jan Marie Caruso at her stamping boutique and make a few purchases from her awesome, stamp inventory. What a treat to meet her and to shop!!

Makiko Jones is hostess this week  for the FTTC116 and gave the challenge to create a card for a child under age 13. This is the only Flourishes image I have for that age bracket but I am sure I know an 11 yr. old that would just love this carousel card. As you can see, I made it for a girl. The image is Enjoy the Ride.
The sentiment for the inside-'Dream Big' from the same set.

For my card, I stamped my image on a Spellbinders Labels 3 die, colored the image with Copics, and used a Swiss Dots embossing folder on my Martha Stewart cardstock. The designer paper is a scrap piece with an unknown name. The three layers of punches are made with a Martha Stewart lace heart edger punch. Added a dimensional hydrangea sticker from MS and a deep rose ribbon. The large, pink gemstone is placed at the top of the carousel pole and I added some thin strips of purple, yellow, turquoise,  and pink cardstock to look as if ribbons are flying around the pole.

Thanks for visiting today. Hope you'll join this challenge and be sure to check the rules. Don't forget to visit the team's  blogs and leave a comment.

Stampin' B's ---- Challenges

I guess I am fortunate to be able to post my card. The tornadoes have swirled all around today with much destruction, death, and damage. I had to go to the tornado shelter three times today starting at 4:00 a.m.
The city my sister lives in, Tuscaloosa, AL has terrible damage. Even the Hobby Lobby was hit. That is a small matter when lives and homes were lost. So far, it is reported over 200 people were killed in AL.

The Stampin' B's Design Team challenge this week is monochromatic with blues and neutrals only..with paper piecing. The paper piecing is the part I forgot about until my card was made. Well, it is kind of paper pieced. Butterflies are stamped twice and popped up. Luckily, there are no rules on this challenge. Whew!

I loved this beautiful piece of paper and didn't want to stamp a sentiment on it so I left as is. Used a punch for the corners and that's about it.

I am entering my card into this challenge:
Party Time Tuesdays challenge blog #13-Anything Goes

Paper: PTI Vintage Cream cardstock, K&CO Toile flat paper, Stampin'Up! Night of Navy

Who doesn't love pansies????

I've been playing catch up today. Last Friday I left town but not before I found out I was named Queen for the Day on Splitcoaststampers. Missed being there but I have been looking at the awesome cards the stampers cased in my honor. Also, commenting on each one and I also made a couple cards. So, I've had
no breathing room. That is what happens when you go on a trip, I guess.

This card is entered into the Flourishes Timeless Tuesday challenge #115.
The hostess this week is Silke Ledlow and she gave this fun sketch.

I used my largest Spellbinders Blossom Two die cut for the outer part of my sketch and the smallest one for the sentiment. The yellow section on top of that is a Spellbinders circle nestabilitie, cut and embossed. I added a few silver pearls and a gingham ribbon. The embossing folder is houndstooth and the punched border is EK Success plaid. Colored with Copics.

I put the sketch inside my square card and another square layer. The pansy stamp is from Flourishes Calendar Set 1. I am using the March Pansy on my card. The sentiment is from Flourishes Friendly Reminders.

I also am entering my card into the Simon Says Stamp blog challenge-Emboss it! (wet or dry embossing)

More challenges:
Tip Top Tuesday has a  Square challenge-#31

Mother's Day Stampin'B's

This week on the Stampin B's  Design Team challenge #107, Vicki Dutcher asked us to make a Mother's Day card. I don't have my mother now so this card will go to a mother who lost her only child some time ago. I know she still likes to be remembered on Mother's Day.
Hope you'll join us this week and link to the inklinz tool on the Stampin B's blog.

I am using a flower from Mark's Finest Papers, Apples and Camellia. I cut out and layered the top center part of the flower. I have colored it was Copics, as well as the butterflies that I punched with a Martha Stewart butterfly punch. The window frame is a die called Decorative Window Scene and made by Spellbinders exclusively for Heartfelt Creations. I cut it out on my Cuttlebug, embossed, and sponged some clouds in the window panes. Computer generated the sentiment.

I am entering my card into the Woodware USA Challenge #23 to use die cuts/punches. I used both.

Recipe:
Stamps: Mark's Finest Papers-Apples and Camellia
Paper: PTI white cardstock, unknown designer paper
Ink: Memento Summer Sky and Tuxedo Black
Accessories: Martha Stewart classic butterfly punch, Heartfelt Creation Decorative Window Scene die cut,
Leaves from Mark's Finest papers-Grandma's Hope Chest premium paper craft pack, pearls, Spellbinders

Birthday Celebration!!!

Funny how things work out...or don't. I started my card this afternoon and needed something fairly simple because
I am desperately needing to get ready to go out of state Friday a.m. Well, you would know things would go
wrong. I thought I had my card finished, went to choir practice, came home  and the card just didn't look like I wanted. Drat! I made the complete card over. Hubby is in bed and I'm uploading and commenting tonight.

The Flourishes Timeless Tuesday #114 challenge this week is given by Cindy Haffner and is  a color challenge: Aqua, Brown, Yellow. I almost never use yellow and this is the second one today I've uploaded with yellow. And, I like both! Of course, I love polka dots, too.

My card also fits the Tuesday Throwdown Challenge #45-Use Polka Dots  I just bought this pretty paper over the weekend and I'm sure glad I did.

I'm also entering a new challenge for me: KB Cute Monday #10-Birthday Theme

Easter Blessings to everyone!

Recipe:
Stamps: Flourishes-Birthday Pennants
Paper: Stampin'Up! Taken with Teal, The Paper Studio-yellow with white polka dots (who would have guessed ) LOL, PTI white cardstock
Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa, Stampin'Up! Taken with Teal
Accessories: EK Success punch-candles, ribbon from Hobby Lobby

Spring in the Garden

When I did my last post, we were expecting some terrible weather (last Friday). Thankfully, it came and went without any damage or very little in my area. Unfortunately, that was not the case for so many. Today
is a beautiful day so I am uploading a card full of Spring Joy...that is the name of the stamp I'm using and I absolutely love it. It is from OnyXXpressions.
I'm using a Martha Stewart Quilted border punch and every time I use it, I think it looks like frogs-lots of them. LOL I'm sure that is not what it is supposed to be, but I see them and think they look rather cute in
my Spring garden.

This week on Splitcoaststampers, Sue aka coffeestamper, was named Featured Stamper. I cased this card of Sue's after flipping and making a few changes. I'm hoping Sue has a fun week.

I am entering my card into the Cupcake Craft Challenge-#138 -Lot of Layers. Not counting my base card, I have used 4 layers on my card, plus my punched border.

So glad to do the EtsyInspired Challenge #135 because I found this image below that is inspiration for my yellow and red. I almost never use yellow. I like the color but never think my cards look the way I want when I use it. I must say I am pretty much pleased with this one. Here is my inspiration:

This inspiration came from the Etsy store, Creating is Fun and what a super store. You should visit and see some of her wonderful items.

Another challenge I am entering is Paper Sundaes #65-Texture  I used dry embossing with the Swiss Dots Cuttlebug folder
