Long Nose Snowman

The Merry Monday challenge #63 sketch:

I decided to use my circle on the sketch to make a snowman. I punched a red circle so my snowman would pop out and then a smaller 1 3/4" circle in white for the body. A friend sent me the cutest snowman and I cut out the head only and glued to my circle to make my snowman.  I've added some color in blue with Copics and also some Stickles.

My banners are hand cut.

Stamps-unknown (from a friend) and used head only, Hot off the Press/Christmas Words (sentiment)
Paper-PTI white cardstock, Stampin'Up! cherry cobbler, unknown dp

Twas the Night

I made my card for this week's Featured Stamper, my talented blogging and Punchkateer pal. Anyone who knows Colleen aka Smoatsmom on Splitcoaststampers or from her blog Dietrich Designs knows she has the most elegant cards ever.

She sent me this Christmas card this past season and I absolutely love it so I decided to try to case it. I really needed the beautiful red and white houndstooth but had to settle for this blue/green color. I used a stamp the same as hers. I had sent this one to Colleen after she sent me a wonderful bird stamp. She knows I love birds and houndstooth. After buying her stamp, I had to buy one for myself. :-) Isn't that the way it is?

I ended up making a square card instead of like Colleen's A2. Well, that's a long story I won't go into.
Otherwise, I tried to follow her creation and make a few changes so I wouldn't be copying her card.

I like my cards better on SCS because I always show them larger. I need to figure out how to enlarge my photo space  on my blog as I can't show the same size as I do on Splitcoaststampers.

Colleen, have fun this week being a celebrity on Splitcoaststampers. You deserve it!

Yellow Tulips

Hello all...I'm back today and have a card for the Queen for the Day #165 on Splitcoaststampers. The Queen is Jill aka JD from PAUSA. This is the card I chose to case. Crazy me, I cased a card she had cased for another Queen, Taylor Usry. So, I guess I cased both of them. I have to start checking that before I start uploading my card. Duh!

I LOVE tulips and yellow ones are my favorite so that explains my yellow Copics.

I made my pot using the Stampin'Up! ornament punch and cutting a section off after punching.

I'll be around to visit blogs soon...hopefully this weekend I'll catch up.

Out of the Box

CCEE1320

I've been away since Friday and will probably not be back for a several days. I'm missing seeing all your posts but had to take some time away for other things. I have gotten my CCEE posts ready and scheduled early.

Shirley Quarry gave the challenge this week at CCEE Stampers to let it all hang out or over. My out of the box rose was cut with the Spellbinders Labels 14 for this technique. If you don't know how to do this technique, here is a tutorial on Splitcoaststampers.

We hope you'll join us this week and link you card with the inlinkz tool.

See you soon.

The Fan Club Monthly Theme challenge  on Splitcoaststampers is Hope Floats, explore things that fly through the air. My floater is the black butterfly.

The Queen for the Day #164 challenge is featuring Sandy aka stampingwriter. This is the card I chose to case.

I think this will be my last card until Thursday. I may not be able to visit your blogs for a week or more as I'll be very busy with things other than crafting.

Hope you all have a great weekend and I want to wish all mothers a Happy Mother's Day.

From a Branch to a Tree

I'm a busy bee today. This is my second card. I guess my mojo in in overdrive. This will probably be it for a few days, though.

My card is for Whoo Hoo Wednesday at Inspired by Stamping-WHW #99. This is the challenge:
Create a card or project on your blog sharing with us a new way of using your stamps. Or, you can use the tutorial they have to create a card or project.

I am using my stamps for the tree and bird from the Inspired by Stamping Sweet Aviary set. My image is really a branch (one of two in the set) if it is turned sideways and I've thought for a while I could use this one as a tree. So, that's what I did. The bird is from the IBS set Flowers Bloom. I am not sure if this has been done before but I haven't seen it...crossing my fingers that it hasn't. :-)

My punch around the page is Martha Stewart Bird and Branch Woodland punch and the grass edge punch is also Martha Stewart.  The flower button is from Jolee's Boutique Mother of Pearl  Notion Kit (from my sis). It was cream colored and I colored it with brown copics. The seam binding is also IBS sage.

Paper is PTI vintage cream, Stampin'Up! Chocolate Chip, Soft Suede, and Sage Shadow.

Merry Monday Sketch

I'm excited to be Guest Designer this week for the Merry Monday challenge #61. It can be found at Always Playing With Paper and is a Christmas challenge. Here is the sketch for this week:

It was an unexpected sketch and I had to do a bit of thinking to decide what I would create.

I used a set from Rubber Stamp Tapestry to make my partial swag or it could be considered a part of a wreath. It was made with two of the three peg stamps in the set and I stamped and stamped off the holly.

Hope you'll play along this week and get some of those Christmas cards made early. You can be sure Lesley the Design Team have some really creative and beautiful cards made.

Madera Corners

This is my last card until Monday. It is for the Queen for the Day on Splitcoaststampers, Peggy aka jasonw1. Wow! Does she have a gallery full of beautiful cards. I decided this is the one I wanted to case. I love white on white cards.

My flower really is white although looking more creamy than it is  and it does have a little bit of color on the leaves.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend. I can't believe it is supposed to be 54 degrees tomorrow here in my area of AL...and lots of rain. That's what I call an ugly May weekend. What is going on with the weather???????? Maybe there will be a miracle and it will change.

From Our Nest

CCEE1318

Who can believe May is here already? It really doesn't seem like it because it has been a cool, rainy Spring. Rain, rain, go away...I want to work in my yard and it seems to be so ugly on weekends when hubby is home to help. Hmmm....is he ordering that rain? LOL

Shirley Quarry is our hostess for the month of May at CCEE Stampers and is bringing us some fun challenges. This week's challenge is Make it Shimmer. As you can see, or maybe you can't, I have shimmer on the center of my flowers. That is gold Stickles and I must say they aren't shimmering much in the photo, but they are looking pretty good in real life. I also put glossy accents for a bit more shimmer on the bird's yellow wings...not showing at all. Sorry.

I did have fun coloring my image which is a digi from Digital Two for Tuesday, taken from The Buddy Magazine. I tried to make my birds look like male and female red winged black birds. After coloring, I sponged around the image in blue.

We hope you'll join us this week and let your card shimmer and sparkle. Just add your card with the inlinkz tool. Happy stamping!
