A Day for a Sail

I hope your weekend included nicer weather than mine. It was nothing but clouds, rain, and cool weather until yesterday around 4:00 p.m. when the sun decided to shine. But, this week promises to be warmer and full of sunshine. I am so glad.

It's Monday and that means it is time for the CAS challenge on Splitcoaststampers. It is CAS #273 and the theme is water. I have a bit of water but just pretend that is an ocean full. :-) I love pretty, colorful sailboats so that is what I decided to use. It is colored with Copics and I just added some banners with the sentiment.

You probably think CAS cards are just about all I make, but not true. I am very busy with other kinds that just don't get on my blog and won't for a while. They are my cards for the Splitcoaststampers Dirty Dozen. I may share some of those at a later date. I have so many.

My Heart Sings

Good Morning.....I guess.  Hubby and I worked in the yard again yesterday and I'm pooped. That can be such hard work. I do enjoy it, though. It was a beautiful day and we cleaned out more beds, re-mulched, and went to a plant nursery. I have plants yet to be put into the ground. Now, it is going to be a rainy weekend. I'll rest and do other things.

I'm uploading a card I made a few weeks ago and never got around to putting it on my blog. It is from doing a mixed media challenge on Splitcoaststampers, MIX64. The challenge is to mist, splash, spray, or squirt your project...create puddles if you dare.

I sprayed the bird with Heidi Swapp seafoam color shine. I used a Kite stencil/Endless for the design on the bird. It had Inka Gold Metallic Rub used on the stencil.  I see the colors from the doily are reflecting on the bird design but it really is gold. The doily stencil is by Finnabair picked up at Hobby Lobby. I used Dylusions ink spray in postbox red. I didn't spray it but mixed it with the modeling paste I used and rubbed over the stencil.

Yes, I'm playing again with my photo software and doing a polaroid photo.  I love playing with the software...find it lots of fun.

Recipe:
Stamps-None
Paper-PTI kraft and white cardstock, unknown blue cardstock

LOVE

Hope you all had a fabulous weekend. It was sunny and warm here in my part of AL so hubby and I worked in the yard....very hard. We cleaned out and re-mulched a bed, went to a couple of plant nurseries, potted some plants, and just had a good time. It wasn't so fun when we finished and I realized how tired I was. :-)

It's time for the CAS271 challenge on Splitcoaststampers. This week we are to case a card from a past DT CAS member and that person is Angela Maine aka Arizona Maine. What a beautiful gallery. Believe me, I could case all her cards. This is the card I chose to case.

You can see the changes I made while keeping it fairly close to hers.

Recipe:

Paper-PTI white cardstock, Stampin'Up! Old Olive cardstock, Bazzill Gumball cardstock

Mixed Media---Birds

I love the mix-ability challenge on Splitcoaststampers. This week, the Mix66 challenge is to make a card with THINGS THAT FLY and use at least two types of mediums. Loving birds, I went with a pretty, wooden bird.

I used a piece of pattered paper and brushed on a bit of American  acrylic paint in pink.  Tim Holtz Distressed Paints-Broken China is used for the bird and a bit at the top. After it dried I stamped some tiny flowers from Stamps by Judith.

I used a stencil from Dylusions-chequered dots-and rubbed over it with Inka Gold Metallic Rub/green yellow. The other stencil is just a piece of needlework canvas I bought at Hobby Lobby. It is done with Tim Holtz Barn door  Distressed Paints and pink acrylic paint.

The bird is KaiserCraft wood flourishes/bird and the patterned paper is DCWV art collage art stack.

 I'm entering my card here:

Shooting Stars

Today's CAS challenge #270 on Splitcoaststampers is to use stars. I love my star dies but thought I would use a new stamp instead.

Sometimes, I need a belated birthday card....you know when a birthday comes and you somehow missed it because you were so busy with so many things. You know how that happens, don't you? :-)

We're expecting some bad weather today so I'll try to get around and visit before that happens. I'm thinking I'll be heading for shelter later today. The tornado season is upon us.

Stamps-Taylored Expressions/Shooting Stars
Paper-PTI white cardstock, gray cardstock
Ink-Memento Tuxedo Black

April Showers-May Flowers

This is my last week to be guest designer for Crazy4Challenges. Thank you, Joanne, for asking me and thanks to the rest of the girls for letting me join them for the month of April.

This week's challenge, C4C233,  is Rain Showers. Knowing that April showers bring May flowers, Joanne wants us to show both on our cards.

I'm using a La Blanche meadow stamp and a Rubber Hedgehog raindrops image. The sentiment is from Mark's Finest Papers and Stamps, Blessings.

I love the curved borders. This one is Spellbinders Borderabilities Curved Borders Two.  I used an unknown yellow cardstock behind it.

The image is colored with Copics.

That's it! Hope you all have a wonderful, warm, sunny weekend. You can find me working in my yard this weekend.  I hope to get some flowers planted.

Pansy Time

I hope you all had a wonderful Easter and pretty weather. We were out of town but here and also there, it was 80 degrees and very sunny.

I am so happy to finally use my pansy stamp. I just love it. It is from Sparkle n' Sprinkle.  The sentiment is Inspired by Stamping/Spring Blossoms.

My card is for CAS269 on Splitcoaststampers. We were to use a palette of lavender hues (feathered tones) from Design Seeds and use at least three of the colors:

Not much to say about this one, colored with Copics and rounded the corners on my card base and layer. A sentiment finished it.

Wedding Day

I'm guest designing again this week at Crazy4Challenges and Joanne Grzelak has given us a sketch challenge. It's challenge C4C232.

I thought this sketch would make a pretty wedding card and I like to keep one or two in my stash at all times. This one was so fun to make.

I see the embossing isn't showing on my black oval but it is embossed with a pretty Anna Griffin Juliet Damask embossing folder.

The tie was made with a Fiskars Heart border punch. It is the remnants and the two hearts glued together at the bottom tips.

I made a dimensional banner using the tutorial by Tonie Storie on Splitcoaststampers.

Recipe:
Stamps-Heartfelt Creations Bella Rose precut Heart set (sentiment)

Woolly Love

This week's CAS challenge #268 on Splitcoaststampers is a Featured Stamper challenge. You are to choose a past DT member  and case her card. I chose Diane aka fionna51 to case. She has a wonderful gallery full of CAS cards. I chose this card to case.

I love sheep and had a new stamp set including them so I couldn't help but make a card with these cuties. The sentiment, sheep, and grass are all from Taylored Expressions/Hello Spring set.  They were stamps, not dies. I cut them out. The clouds were made with a large Hero Arts stamp/Vertical Clouds. I cut only a few of the clouds from it and popped them on.

The grass was made with paper from The Paper Studio/lime green gingham.  I used Copics, C1 and 110. The clouds were sponged with VersaMagic Aegean Blue and Sea Breeze.
