Rhododendron

I was really wanting to use my new stamp from OnyxXpression called Rhodendron and found an excuse today. The QFTD on Splitcoaststampers is Harriet aka hskelly and she has a wonderful gallery of cards, many are CAS cards. I chose this card to case: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/1907016?&cat=500&ppuser=18530

I stamped my image, colored with Copics, popped up one section of the bloom (at the top), added a ribbon/button and the sentiment.

I am entering these challenges:

Trees in Mountain Mist

I'm  hostess this week for the Stampin' B's Design Team. For challenge #105, we are to use navy and green and  must include stripes, dots, or plaids. Would you  believe there are plaids on my card? After I ran it through the herringbone embossing folder, the plaid disappeared. If you look closely, you will see some stripes on top of the navy strips. I did that to try to make up for losing my plaid.  No dots.
I sponged to get a look of mountain mist behind the trees. Cut my strips, sanded and distressed my card a bit. Added some twine and brads and that was it.

Welcome to the Stampin' B's two new Design Team members: Pam Lawver (Pam124) and Anne Harmon (jdmommy)!! Great to be working with these talented ladies. Be watching for some fabulous cards/projects from them.

Sweet Treats

I'm just here to do a quick upload. Have a lot on my plate today. I made this card for Irene aka Dandi on Splitcoaststampers. Irene is the Featured Stamper this week. I chose to case this card. When I started to upload, I noticed she had cased another FS, AL_Silver2 so I guess this is a case of both their cards.
I kept the layout and used different paper, images, and changed the pearls to buttons. I love the stripes but when I made my picture, the stripes were 'really out there' so I thought I would add buttons to tone it down.
Now, I think the buttons need a bit of toning down.

Paper: PTI white card, Stampin'Up! Real Red, K&CO Marcella cardstock mat

Butterflies Live in the Flower Garden

Friday again and it's windy and very cool. I'm hoping to work in my yard tomorrow and I think it will only be 68 degrees, but sunny...so maybe.

The QFTD challenge today on Splitcoaststampers today is to honor Lois aka Clownmom. I chose to case this card of hers: I stamped my flower garden in SU Always Artichoke. If the green looks grayish, it is because when I tweaked my card the SU Melon Mambo was really brightened and in your face so I left it a bit subdued. I used a piercerabilitie die on the bottom and sponged with the Melon Mambo after piercing. Added the tiny pearls to my sponged butterflies and did some sponging between panels.

I am entering my card into these challenges:
Stamptacular Sunday-#104-No Kids Allowed-Birthday!
The Rubber Cafe Design Team Blog Challenge #11-Spring Flowers
Tuesday Throwdown #42-Florals
Paper Pal Arts #87-Technique Challenge-Punches

Sunshine and Snails Stampin' B's

Vicky Gould is hostess this week of the Stampin B's Design Team and asked that we create our own background-no designer paper, only stamps. As you can see, I have made my card very sunny using several stamps. I first stamped my  white cardstock with a stamp called Speckles in SU Apricot Appeal, then stamped my sun with SU Crushed Curry, embossed with clear embossing powder, heated, and then sponged the entire background with the  Apricot Appeal, making the sun images pop out.
I popped up the back side of my snail after paper piecing with green and white houndstooth. I also used a houndstooth embossing folder and googly eyes.

We hope you'll join our challenge this week. If so, use the inlinkz tool on the Stampin' B's blog.

Sail the Seas

Good Morning! We had such gorgeous weather a week or so ago and for several days now it has been DREARY. But, the weekend should be pretty and that means hubby and I can work in the yard.

Just want to mention, very soon I will be posting blog candy. It will be to celebrate Spring..so be watching for that...probably this week.  Stay tuned!

The CAS112 on Splitcoasterstampers is to do 'cut up sentiments'. It took me a while to do something I really liked but finally thought of something I was happy with..by adding the dp behind the sentiment instead of just placing it on the card randomly.

I'm using a $1 stamp from Jo Ann Stores bin...and, I really love it. Makes a wonderful clean and simple card.
Colored just a bit with my Copics, added some twine and my sentiment, and did some scoring...and that's it! I'm entering several Spring challenges and what says Spring better than to go sailing.

I am entering these challenges:
Wee Memories #42-Anything Goes
Stamp Something-Spring
Creative Craft Friends #21-Spring
Kaboodle Doodles Challenge #60-Spring has Sprung

Recipe:
Stamps: Studio112 for image, Mark's Finest Papers-Our Family Tree (sentiment)
Paper: PTI white cardstock, blue check from LSS (no name)
Ink: Stampin'Up! Night of Navy
Accessories: red and white twine, Copics, Scor-Pal, Martha Stewart Score Board

A Black Tie Affair

Just a quick upload. I wanted to join in the Featured Stamper challenge today on SCS and the stamper is Elaine aka Quixotic. This is the card I chose to case. Her coloring is outstanding but I didn't use an image to color.

My card also fits the Dirty Dozen challenge this month on Splitcoaststampers which is a black tie party. I wanted it to be elegant and I hope I achieved that.

I used a Heartfelt Creations precut stamp that is cut with the Spellbinders Peony nestabilitie. I stamped three times on black cardstock with VersaMark, then embossed with white embossing powder. Cut the flower with the die cut and popped up. Then, I added the little, red gemstone.

I am entering Amber's Crafts and Stuff - challenge #2-Use Die Cuts

Recipe:
Stamps: Heartfelt Creations-Vintage Wildflower 2 PreCut set
Paper: PTI white cardstock, ColorBok designer paper, black cs from Hobby Lobby
Accessories: Cuttlebug, textile embossing folder, Spellbinders peony nestabilitie, VersaMark, white embossing powder, red gemstone, black satin ribbon

ChiBlossoms

Happy Friday! Hope everyone has a fab weekend planned. If you think cleaning wood floors is fab, then I'm going to have one. Well, just a little cleaner to get off prints and spills from the little munchkins being here. That is to be expected and it won't take long to clean.

I made my card today to honor Karen aka k dunbrook on SCS as she has been crowned Queen for the Day #53. I am case-ing this card. Karen does a lot of CAS cards so I went with that.

I am using an OnyXXpressions stamp and really love it. I stamped the bloom three times, colored with Copics, and after cutting them out, I cut into the petals of my blossoms so they would curl better. I popped them on and there you have it...my 3D flower.

I am entering these challenges:
