Crepe Paper Flower for the Queen

Did I ever have fun making this card. More about that in a sec. I made my card for the newly crowned Queen for the Day on Splitcoaststampers. She is Becky aka BeckyTE and does she ever have some awesome cards. There were several I wanted to case but landed here because I wanted to make a crepe paper flower.

I found this awesome flower tutorial on Linda's Works of Heart. I shouldn't show you because hers is soooooo gorgeous. O.K., this is my first one....maybe I'll get a lot better, although I do like mine.   Linda's video  is so easy with such super instructions. I can hardly wait to make another one.

I'm entering my card into the Simon Says Stamp challenge-Anything Goes
The Cutie Pie Challenge Blog-Use Die Cuts or Punches-Used a die cut for making flower and die cuts for swirls and leaves
Divas by Design - Anything Goes

I think I'll also enter this into the HOT PINK challenge on Splitcoaststampers. Of course, that was a few days ago but that is o.k.  It is F4A118.

Recipe:
Paper: PTI white cs, Stampin'Up! Chocolate Chip, and unknown dp
Ink: Stampin'Up Chocolate Chip
Accessories: Spellbinder Shapeabilities Foliage die, Spellbinders Scalloped rectangle nestabilitie, Cheery Lynn Design Fanciful Flourish, Say it In Studs, crepe paper

CCEE Stampers-Piercing Challenge

Charlene Merrick, the hostess this month for the CCEE Stampers, gave the challenge to make paper piercing the focus of our cards. I'm using a Spellbinders Piercerabilities 5 1/2" fancy scalloped border die. I ran it through the machine and then did the piercing.

My stamp is La Blanche Meadow Stamps. There were two fairly similar stamps in this package I bought at my LSS. I just love them.  My sentiment is from the Inkadinkado Garden Flower set. I really like the font.

I colored with Copics and the paper is PTI white cardstock. The green was a blank card I found in my stash...no idea where it came from. Added a gemstone center to the center of pierced flower and that finishes my card.

Hope you'll come along and join us this week. Piercing is so much fun. CCEE Stampers

FOSTV-Burned Batik

I tried a new technique for the FOSTV (Friends of Speedy TV) this week. That is the new challenge starting today. I had never done Burned Batik so I thought I would try it. It took several attempts for different reasons.  If you would like to try this technique, it can be found at here at Splitcoaststampers.

I'm using two stamp sets from Mark's Finest Papers, A Heinrich Company. For the butterfly in the background and the daffodil, I using a set called Daffodil Greetings. For the sentiment, I am using Dogwood Blossoms.

Rest of recipe:
Paper-Mark's Finest Paper, A Heinrich Co. -Orangie Sunset, Blue cs is unknown, white cs
Ink: Tim Holtz Distress Ink-Mustard Seed, Rusty Hinge, Peeled Paint, and Stormy Sky--Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories: Copics, clear embossing powder, VersaMark, Spellbinders Fancy Tags

Here is the prize to be given to some lucky winner this week. It is the North American Woods stamp set.

Come over to Home of Speedy TV and join this challenge. It's fun to try a new technique and you can choose whichever you please. Then, link up your photo. Maybe you'll be the winner.

Tall Tulip

I always do the Queen for the Day challenge on Splitcoaststampers and I am here to honor this week's Queen by doing a case of one of her cards....found here. The new queen is Dawn aka TreasureOiler.

I was going to use my Top Note Die as Dawn did but it won't go through my Grand Calibur and I broke my Cuttlebug a while back. I sure wish I could find that smaller size again instead of a wide carriage. No one has them anymore. My Grand Calibur has the wide carriage and I don't need another one. I loved my Cuttlebug.

I am using Stamps by Judith for my image. I love the little coffee bean because there are several ways to use it. I wanted to use it as a tulip this time.  I added a Martha Stewart bow from a punch. I would say this card is very CAS.

Paper is Stampin'Up Cherry Cobbler and the ink SU Cherry Cobbler and  Memento Bamboo Leaves. The green paper came from my local scrapbook store with no name.

Have a fabulous weekend!

Flower Garden

What a week! I won't even go into it except to say my house is destroyed and won't be the same for weeks. Well, it isn't really destroyed, but I feel that way...work crew is here. Need I say more?

On to the challenge at CCEE Stampers this week. Charlene Merrick, our hostess gave a color challenge:
Daffodil Delight, Cherry Cobbler, Pacific Point, Wild Wasabi, and a neutral of your choice. I only had one of those colors and could have substituted but I just decided I would sponge in some colors that were in the family.

I stamped a Rubber Stampede Fern Frond on my base and then stamped my image from Crafty Individuals that I won a while back. It doesn't have a name on the package, just CI-176. I sponged with these colors:
Memento Bamboo Leaves
Memento Danube Blue
Stampin'Up! Cherry Cobbler
Stampin'Up! Crushed Curry

The sentiment is from Sweet 'n Sassy-Poppies and Greetings

All that was left was to add my black embellishments.

Hope you'll join this week at CCEE Stampers. Check out the rest of the  DT's samples and get out your crafting supplies and go to work. Then, link your creation.  That's it! Have fun.

Friends of Speedy TV challenge

Good Morning morning..hope you all had a fabulous weekend. I went out of town and relaxed a bit and visited a good scrapbook store, picking up some goodies.

Monday is the beginning of a new challenge at Friends of Speedy TV located at Home of Speedy TV.  This week the challenge is to create a Memorial Day card. I'm using an image from Mark's Finest Papers called Fabulous Dogs.

I stamped my dog twice, colored him, cut out, and popped on. He is paper pieced with Mark's Finest Papers Old World Gold cardstock. The banner was made with a Fiskars scallop banner punch and the middle star was punched with a Fiskars small star pop up punch. I added the two sticker stars and the bar at the top and strip at the bottom are Creative Imaginations Liberty adhesive stickers. The sentiment is made with a Spellbinders Shapeabilities die called ribbon banners. I typed the sentiment.

The stamp set you could possibly win if you play the challenge at Friends of Speedy TV this week is Hello Trucks.

We would love if you came over to Speedy TV and joined us this week.

Queen for the Day-SCS

Another Queen for the Day has been crowned on Splitcoaststampers and it is Mary aka MaryR917.
I cased this card of Mary's...isn't it gorgeous? I didn't do an out of the box technique but I do love hers.

My zinnia image is by Flourishes-Zinnias and the sentiment by Flourishes is Enjoy the Ride.

I colored with Copics, added a Martha Stewart ribbon bow from a punch and used the Martha Stewart punch around the page-eyelet lace. I've pierced the paper which already had the dots on the paper. The embossing folder I used is the only one I have for which I don't have a name.

Paper is BasicGrey fresh squeezed for the strip, double sided unknown paper, Core'dinations sugar cane, and PTI white cs.

That's it for me this weekend. I need a rest for a couple days so I'll see you on Monday with my card for FOSTV.

Today's card is using the awesome stamp set, Scenic Selections. If you like making scenes for your cards, scrapbooks, etc., you'll love this set. I used four of the images from the set to make my card..trees, fence, grass along the fence, and taller grasses in the pasture.  The sentiment is from the Get Reel set featured yesterday. I stamped and stamped off part of the trees. Colored images with Copics

Recipe:
Paper: MFP 100 lb. premium white cs, dp is Hazel Plaid from Glitz Design
Gold brads
Hand cut the banner
Ink: Memento Bahama Blue for sponging sky, and Rich Cocoa

I made an extra card for the hop, going clean and simple. I thought the scene was good for a sympathy card. From the Scenic Selections set, I used a tree, fence, boulder, and grasses. The sentiment is from the Oopsy Daisy set featured on Tuesday.
I think my plaid border and mat look black in this photo but it is brown.

CCEE Stampers Challenge

This week Charlene Merrick, our hostess at CCEE Stampers for the month, asked that we use vellum and do either dry or heat embossing. As you can see, I am doing the heat embossing. I stamped my image with VersaMark and used white embossing powder. I wanted a soft look so I turned my vellum over to the back side and colored my image. I really like this technique.

Hope you'll join us this week for this fun challenge. Check out the rest of the awesome team's work
here.

Recipe:
Stamps: Heartfelt Creations-Semper Augustus Tulips, Hero Arts sentiment
Paper: PTI white cs, designer paper is unknown but is double sided
