Hearts and Ivy

I made a card today for the Queen for the Day on Splitcoaststampers. The queen is Jean aka naturecoastcrafter and this is the card I cased. I changed mine to a valentine from her Fall creation.

I used my PTI Heart Prints stamp set and matching die cuts. The ivy is Marianne Design Creatables Bird, Ivy and Vine, Birdhouse die cut set and I used a Spellbinders rectangle die.

I sponged Stampin'Up! Bermuda Bay in side the rectangle die and popped on the hearts.

The sentiment is from Mark's Finest Papers and Stamps-You Are Cherished.

I think this will be it for me this week. Hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

Text Love

Hmmmmm.....just couldn't decide whether I wanted to upload this card or not. It is one of those cards you aren't sure about. But, here it is.

My card was a case of a card by sistersandie and this is her absolutely gorgeous card. Sandie was the Queen for the Day on Splitcoaststampers last Friday.

The text background is Stampendous Dream Text...see the meaning of love? I stamped some hearts from my PTI Heart Prints stamp set and used the Stampabilities Written I Love You sentiment. Tied a ribbon and added a button.

The ink is Stampin'Up! Bermuda Bay and Memento Tuxedo Black. The ribbon is SU Bermuda Bay. I added a bit of Carribean twine from The Twinery.

Edged Hearts

I'm so happy with my card today. It took a while for me to get it made because of cutting and stamping. But,  I think it was well worth it. With this sentiment, I think it'll just have to be for my hubby.

I'm using PTI's Heart Prints stamp set and matching dies. I just love them. I had seen this card on Pinterest and knew I just had to try it. It is a card made by Dana Seymour in 2009. She didn't give the size of her card but I made this one 4 1/4 x 5 1/2. If you want to make it, I have to tell you that it won't fit an A2 envelope because the hearts go over the back edge of the card. That is the way it looked like Dana did hers. As she appeared to have done, I cut off the front panel. I cut 1/2" off.

The ink is Stampin'Up! Cherry Cobbler and Tempting Turquoise.  The sentiment is by Printworks/It Had to be You. I just love that.

My card was entered into the Inspiration Challenge IC423 on Splitcoaststampers.
Also entering it in these challenges:
Shopping Our Stash #133-Use Something New (my stamps just came in the mail this week and my sentiment stamp is new)

Addicted to CAS-code word is die cuts-My hearts are PTI die cuts matching the Heart Prints stamp set

Snow Covered Bird Feeder

I bet this is how some of your bird feeders are looking in this snowy, icy weather. I've made my card with some snow and icy goodness. Brrrrrr.........

I am using a Heartfelt Creations stamp set, Cardinal Bird Feeder. Yep, it is from my sister and she gave it to me a while ago. I just love it and can't believe I haven't used it yet. This set has a die cut but I don't have it so I hand cut the image and popped it on. The sentiment is from the same set.

I played in the Ways to Use It challenge WT461 on SCS. The theme was Let it Snow.

I'm entering my card here:

Wedding Day

Another chance to use my Spellbinders Curved Borders Two. I must have had them for 2 months or more. I just love them and this is only my second time to use them, on my last card and this one. This one uses two of six in the set.

I love this image by Heartfelt Creations/Bella Rose Heart and as I was making the card, I was wishing I had bought the die.  Now, that I'm posting and looked at HFC's website, I realized I did buy the die. Oh, crazy me. Well, too late this time but I'll have it for the next one. This is another image I've had a while and never used so it is new to me. I'm thinking it has been retired. Hope not but I didn't find it tonight on their site. The sentiment is Inspired by Stamping/Flowers Bloom.

I colored the image with Copics , G20, E00, and E02.

If you need something to adhere your intricate dies with, such as the Memory Box Elegant Scroll Work die I used at the bottom of my card, I used Elmer's Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. I recommend it.

I've also used a Martha Stewart eyelet lace punch and the embossing folder is by Anna Griffin, Acanthus. Also, I've added the clear rhinestones which took a quite a while to place.

I'm entering my card into these challenges:

Penny Black and More Challenge-January challenge-Love is in the Air-Mine is a wedding card

A Creative Romance-Something New-My heart image and curved borders are new

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge-Something New (heart image and curved borders)

The monthly fan club theme at SCS is It's a Beate-ful Life where we are honoring Beate as she retires. She has given us wonderful tutorials for 10 years. She did a tent topper tutorial and I decided
to do one in her honor.

I'm waking up to 5 degrees. Ouch!!! Won't get out of the teens again today. Too cold down south!

Heart Bouquet

No finger painting today. I am getting in the mood for Valentines.

The border was made with Spellbinder Borderabilites Curved Borders Two. I love those dies and bought them before Christmas. I could never find a time to use them so out they came for this card.

The heart dies were given to me for Christmas by my sister along with other goodies I can't wait to use. I stamped an image from Inspired by Stamping for a background for the hearts and stems. It's really a simple card and was fun to create.

This card was entered in the  Splitcoaststampers Inspiration Challenge IC422.

A Creative Romance-Something New is the challenge. Can be a new baby, new job, new crafting stash.  My new stash is the heart die and the curved border die.

Simon Says Wednesday Challenge wants to see Something New-that would be my new heart die and Spellbinder curved border die

Finger Painting

Hello Bloggers! It has been a while since I've posted. We had a great Christmas except for so much sickness. I was sick, my dil's were sick while visiting, and my son was suffering from back pain. I think I am about to get over my allergies after a doctor visit which included a shot and meds. My family left on Monday and the trees and decorations started coming down immediately. Everything is packed away and the house cleaned. Hubby returned to work yesterday after being off work for three weeks and I really miss him being here.

My card is a bit different today...no stamps.  It's rather small, too, being a 4 1/2 x 4 1/2. I really like the size.  I wanted to do the MIX49 challenge on Splitcoaststampers and the challenge is Happy Little Clouds with finger painting. I smeared Tim Holtz Broken China paint at the top in a way that snow caps were made and then finger painted some white clouds with Liquitex modeling paste.

My trees were painted using Inka Gold Metallic Rub in green yellow and copper. I also painted some of the Tim Holtz paint for highlights in the snow.

As you can see, I used a polaroid style image.

Well, that's about it. I'll be by to visit your blogs and see what I've missed. I may not be able to comment on all but I'll see them.

Birdhouse Border

Good Morning to all! Christmas is almost here and I'm hoping you're ready. I have just about everything done. Unfortunately, I've been sick with allergies for about four days. It all started when someone came and got up our leaves. I think the mold just got in the air and left me coughing, sneezing, no sleep, headache,  and just miserable. So, off to the doctor I go this afternoon.

I cased this card from Roberta aka stampin'nana on SCS as she was Featured Stamper this week. It was one she had done using the Sketch Challenge on SC452 so I didn't enter my card into the FS challenge. You aren't supposed to case a card that has been made from a sketch challenge and I forgot that. Ugh! Just the same, this is the card I cased. Isn't it beautiful?

I probably won't be around for a little while after today. I doubt I'll get another card made before Christmas. We'll celebrate with my family (sister, brother, and their families). After that, our boys and families will be here for a few days.

Merry Christmas to all!!!

Recipe:
Stamps-Inspired by Stamping/Flowers Bloom-sentiment, bird border is unknown. It was a gift and no name on it.

Ink-Memento Tuxedo Black

Winter Scene

I've finally found time to make a card after about one and half weeks. That's a long time for me.  I guess the time of making my favorite cards is over, Christmas. I am soon to be in need of a wintry birthday card.

Sis and I were on a shopping spree this past summer and I found some of these stamps in a scrapbook store and have been wanting to use them for a while....sooooo, now is the time.

I used four stamps (listed in my recipe below) and added sparkles to my water which aren't showing. Ugh! I have used several inks to sponge the snow, sky, and to stamp the trees and water/fence image.
Oh, at the last minute, I decided to add the bunny. The sky has water color paint for snow.

Hope you're all ready for Christmas as it is going to be here very soon. I've had my dinner party and can now relax a bit.

My card was made also for the Inspiration Challenge on Splitcoaststampers. It is featuring the work of Birgit/Biggan. If you haven't seen her blog or gallery, you really need to check it out. What fabulous, creative work!!! This the card I cased. Her card has the trees, night sky, and snow as does mine. I have a rabbit instead of a snowman. What??????? LOL How could I not use a snowman? I know you're wondering.

Recipe:
Stamps-Art Impressions/H-895 (trees) and I-1492/water stream and fence, Inspired by Stamping/Big Wishes II, the bunny was a peg stamp with no name or number
Paper- PTI white cardstock, Stampin'Up! Night of Navy
Ink- Memento/Paris Dusk and  Tim Holtz Distress Ink/Victorian Velvet for sky, Tim Holtz Distress Ink/Stormy Sky for snow, Stampin'Up! Night of Navy for sentiment
Accessories-Copics for rabbit and water stream, dew drops, Winsor & Newton water color paint/Chinese White

Altered Christmas Ornament

I'm supposed to be in Franklin and Nashville, TN today for some Christmas events. We were going with our son, dil, and little ones but my DIL went to the emergency care this morning with a fever and discovered she had the flu. Hubby and I have had flu shots but we left their house as fast as we could. We sure don't want to be sick and didn't know the strain she had or really which strains our flu shot covered. I know the flu vaccine is designed for whatever virus is expected this year but I'm taking no chances. So, the trip is off for this year. That does give me more time for what I need to do at home, though.

Getting to my post, I bought this chipboard ornament at Hobby Lobby and thought I would alter it. Yes, I went with black and white again and used some red/green, too. The paper is unknown and the sentiment and bough are from Inspired by Stamping/Elegant Christmas set. I colored with Copics.
My seam binding is Stampin'Up! Cherry Cobbler. I added a Martha Stewart punched snowflake and a red rhinestone. The tinsel is around the sides.

I'll enter this in the Inspired by Stamping Customer Gallery challenge for December.

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge-Let it Snow...they want to see snowflakes, snowfall, snowmen, etc. Well, I have one snowflake on my project so I'm sending it over there.

That's it for me for now. I may do 1-2 more Christmas cards but I really don't think I have time.

Have a wonderful weekend. I have just a bit of shopping left to do and plenty of baking, candy making, and a dinner to plan.
