Geraniums

CCEE1311

I've pre-scheduled this card for upload.  My sister is visiting and we're having a great time. Of course, we went to a scrapbook store (a really good one) and shopped a lot. We also have gotten in some card making time.

Today, our hostess at CCEE Stampers, Charlene Merrick,  gave the challenge to use pencils only. No markers, no crayons, no reinkers. Use colored pencils to color your image. Yikes! I was wanting to bring out my Copics. But, I got out my Prismacolor pencils. Guess what? This turned out to be fun and was something I had not done in a long time.
I love this geranium image. It  is from Serendipity-Geranium Lg. I will be glad when I have some of those wonderful flowers blooming on my patio. My hubby built me a large planter, about 7 ft., several years ago and I fill it with geraniums, ivy, and whatever. It is always a pleasure to look out of my kitchen and see it.

This is a side opening card, something I rarely make. I added a butterfly, used my rectangle die, and Martha Stewart tag. All finished.

Won't you come over to the CCEE Stampers blog and check out the rest of the talented team's cards and show us your own card using pencils? We would love to have you.

Recipe:

Paper-PTI white cardstock, unknown dp, unknown coral cs
Ink-Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories-Prismacolor pencils (without water), Cheery Lynn Designs Exotic Butterflies/small no. 2, green pearls, Spellbinders Lattice Rectangles, Martha Stewart die cut lace tags

Spectacular, Benzi! I love that die cut you used for the frame. One of my favorites (which I think I bought because you had used it -- Enabler!!) Love the coloring on the geraniums. :-D

Wowza - that is GORGEOUS. The pencil colouring suits the geraniums perfectly; this reminds me of when we used to get invited to the Watercolour Society's openings.
And the lacy butterfly is perfect perched there in the corner. Thanks for such a beautiful card today.

What a beautiful card. I really think you did a terrific job with your pencils. I haven't used mine in a while either, but after seeing this gorgeous card I'll have to get mine out and do some good old fashion pencil coloring. This is my first visit to your blog and I have to tell you that you are a very talented lady. I look forward to viewing your future posts. Enjoy your week and upcoming weekend.

I love geraniums, especially red ones, and had a pot on my deck where I could see them out the kitchen window. They bloomed until mid January and I so enjoyed them. Can't wait to get some more. In the meantime, I can enjoy these pretty flowers! You did a wonderful job with the Prisma Pencils! I hope your sister brought lots of stamps to share!

THis is such a pretty card Brenda! Those flowers are colored perfectly, and I love how the butterfly accent mirrors the doily looking element at the top! I'm so happy you're having a great time with your sis! I can't wait to see what you've been making :)

So very beautiful, Benz! Your coloring of the geraniums is magnificent, and I love the die cut butterfly.

I know what you mean Benz - I couldn't run to my copics for my blue flowers, b/c none of the ones I had worked together, so I opted to watercolor. I really miss watercoloring and may do it more often as I have the matching SU colors. Anyway, back to your card - girl, you don't need copics with the way you used your pencils to color this image. It's spectacular, bright, cheery and all those diecuts and now I'm coveting that 'fly diecut. You make me green with envy every time I see a new punch or diecut!

Pretty geraniums! I love those too. Would love to see that hand built flower container in full bloom. Enjoy your visit with your sister!

Ps...thank you SO much for the birthday card! I totally recall that one, reminding me of a summer day in an exotic locale.

Beautiful colors and flowers! I love the bg paper and you coloring! My parents always had lots of geraniums - they keep something away like snakes or spiders or mosquitos right? Anyway, they are pretty. Many hugz to you my friend!
