Crisscross Christmas Tree

Splitcoaststampers had their Color Combination Challenge, CC454 yesterday which required the  Stampin'Up! colors Night of Navy, Baja Breeze, and Daffodil Delight. I had all the colors except Daffodil Delight so I used some scrap paper I had on hand for the yellow.

I saw this design on Pinterest: http://kentuckykindergartenkorner.blogspot.com/2012/12/eeek-loving-this-new-christmas-craft.html?m=1  Well, I know it was for kindergartners but I have seen plenty of this type tree made that wasn't for kindergartners. LOL I saw one yesterday on Splitcoaststampers made with Washi tape. I should have used Washi as I am sure it would have been easier (I think) than cutting all these strips of cardstock.

I didn't have a star punch with the size I needed so I punched a snowflake for the top of the tree. Then, I added my sentiment on a tree branch...couldn't find anywhere else for it to go.

I'm entering the Oozak blog challenge-#26-Holidays and anything goes-This is my third and final entry as their limit is three.

Shopping Our Stash #129-Holiday or Winter

I won't be on my blog for several days as I'll be celebrating Thanksgiving with family. Hope everyone has a wonderful holiday.

Recipe:
Stamps-Hot off the Press/Christmas Words
Paper-PTI white cardstock, SU Night of Navy and Baja Breeze, scrap yellow cardstock
Ink-SU Night of Navy
Accessories-trimmer, EK Success 1 1/4" square punch (cut down to size) for tree stand, Martha Stewart snowflake punch, clear rhinestone

Hallo Brenda,
ein schöner moderner Weihnachtsbaum. Die Idee mit dem Washi Tape gefällt mir sehr gut und auch die Farbkombination und der Text passen gut auf die Karte.
Liebe Grüße, Anja

Simply delightful. I'm seeing these 'folk art' trees - not sure what else to call 'em - all over the 'net. Loved your colors and great idea to stamp the sentiment on a 'branch' as you did. Inspired topping too, I might add. Really cute & clever card. Happy Thanksgiving, enjoy your family, stay warm. TFS & Hugs

I'm going to b e CASEing this one, Benzi! So beautifully simple and what a great set of cards it would make, with different CS or dp in the strips that make the tree. Fabulous idea!
