Tribute to Charlene Merrick

The CCEE Stampers are doing a tribute for Charlene Merrick today. Charlene would have been celebrating her birthday today, Jan. 22.   Being an alumni, they have asked me to join them. I was on the CCEE Stampers design team with Charlene when she was diagnosed with liver and brain cancer. She was so brave and fought a good battle which she lost Jan.2, 2014.

We were to case a card of Charlene's or use something on the card showing what she loved.

Charlene was a Dirty Dozen member on Splitcoaststampers where she was known as Lilluvstampin and was a terrific cardmaker. She was a such a kind and fun person.  I know she was crazy for penguins and I remember she said her favorite colors were purple, blue, and red.  I think she would like my card. I'm sure Charlene's chased a few snowflakes in her life.  Of course, if you've ever been to her blog, wheremmsgatherandmycreations, you would know she also loved M&M's. I had to smile every time I saw the name of her blog.

Charlene will be greatly missed.

Wunderschön, Brenda, wie lustig die Pinguine durch den Schnee fahren. Sie sind sehr schön coloriert und auch der Spruch gefällt mir gut.
Liebe Grüße, Anja

What a great card and tribute to Charlene. I don't frequent SCS anymore, but I remember her well and was always impressed with her gorgeous creations. I had no idea she was gone - so sad :(

I love your card Benzi. So cute, such great colors and a super fun sentiment - the kind of card that brings a big smile. After reading your post, I clicked and went and visited Charlene's blog. I went through all her cards for at least a year. She was so talented and so positive - wow. She was a great example to us all - she made cards and focused on others to the end. My Mom does that too. Grabs my heart. Hugz!

Darling card with those penguins in the sled! I'd like to chase the snowflakes away here. We are due for more snow over the weekend. And, the temps are so cold...brrr! Hope you're having a great week, hugs!

While I'm saddened to read the reason behind this card, it's a beautiful honor to your card friend. I'll be checking the link you provided. This is such a cheerful & bright card with that oh-so-cute image. Those Penguins are just having a grand time, and it is a fitting memorial for your friend. TFS & Hugs
