Country Christmas

Yep, I know it has been a while since I've been here. Life happened and I had other things to deal with. I had my little grandkids over the weekend....just two of them. I will see the other one at Christmas. I didn't get to see all of them as I had planned  when I did my last card. Ugh!

I did make some cards for Splitcoaststampers that I'll be posting ( five of them). I'll do one today and post some more later.

Isn't that a beautiful bird? I think by now everyone knows I love a bird.  I thought I would just let him perch in the bough.

This card was for the color challenge on Splitcoaststampers/CC507. The colors to use were Stampin'Up! Early Expresso, Garden Green, and Cherry Cobbler. I didn't have all of the colors but listed what I had in the my recipe below. I had to add a bit of yellow for light in my cabin.

Recipe:
Stamps-Mark's Finest Paper & Stamps/Christmas in the Country set (sentiment), Impression Obsession/Winter View (bough), Heartfelt Creations Cardinal Family stamp and matching die, Stampendous/Tis the Season/holly
Paper- PTI white cs, SU Always Artichoke, The Paper Studio/red and white gingham, DCWV/Corrugate mat stack, unknown yellow
Ink-Memento Rich Cocoa
Accessories-Frantic Stamper precision die/Tall pine trees, Dazzling Diamonds, Heartfelt Creations die/Cardinal, Impression Obsession/Brickhouse die, Copics

This card makes me want to find a nice cabin in the woods and just GO! Love it! The cardinal is so beautiful too.
Glad you had a good time with the grands even if things didn't work out like originally planned. Nice to see you back.

Good to have you back, hope all is good with you!
Gorgeous card - I seem to have a thing for red gingham ... only dawned on me the other day when I was looking about my kitchen LOL

I see Mr Blogger has messed about with your comment moderation - apparently you have to go to your settings and change your comments to 'embedded' - I've changed mine but not sure if its worked or not!

I absolutely adore gingham checks. There's something homey and warm about them. This one works perfectly for a country Christmas. Love the bright cardinal.

I'm not so far behind here as I feared I'd be. Sorry you missed having one of the grands..but at least you got to enjoy some of the others. Of course you know I love this bird, and he looks very happy perched in the greenery. I am loving the red gingham bachground for your house. The skinny trees look super with the corrugated 'cabin' look. Delightful little holly trim over the door. A very country Christmas indeed! TFS & Hugs
