I think this is enough with the yellow. Seems that is what I've done the last three or four cards. I liked this card better when it was just swirls of color but I decided to add circles for a watercolor bokeh tutorial on Splitcoaststampers. Hmmmmmmm.......my white ink circles should have blended more with the watercolor background. I really liked mine better when it was just a swirl background. I guess practice would make perfect.
I used Tim Holtz Distress Paint for the background. The lady doing the tutorial used re-inkers. My circle stencil was made with my Spellbinder circle nestabilities putting two or three together and cutting. Instead of using only white ink which I put down with a dauber, I sponged inside the circles with ink the same color as my background.
My flower is watercolored and the butterfly die cut (rather large, isn't it) was cut with blue paper and then vellum on top. It was glittered. I used Tim Holtz stickers for the sentiment.
This card went into the Dirty Dozen Fan Club Central Theme for February, CT0215. The theme this month: For the Love of Friendship.
Guess what?????? We got snow late yesterday and last night. Donna (Designing Keepsakes), you're off the hook for sending snow. Here's a photo in the back yard. Yes, we do get excited when it snows down south. :-) It's beautiful. All you who have had 70-80 inches, don't laugh.

This is so pretty Benzi! I saw it first at Splitcoast Stampers! That is a cool technique! I love all of the yellow cards!
I love the circles AND the swirls! Really gives this a beautiful background for an already gorgeous card! Love the way you did the sentiment too.
SNOW!!!!!!! Yikes!!! It's gorgeous and I WANT SOME! So, if Donna still tries to ship you some, send a little down here too since I never see it! Just like a winter wonderland.
Lynn
Hi Brenda, love your artsy background. I don't know what it looked like before you added the circles, but I think it's a really fun background as is. Making a bokeh background is still on my to do list...
As for the snow, we had 19 °C today, so I had my lunch out on the porch. Last month, we enjoyed a white world for a couple of hours due to some severe hail storms.
Wow this is pure spring mixed media delight. A beautiful snow scene in the photo too.

Another lovely card in gorgeous yellow! I can't get enough of seeing those pretty spring flowers! I can't wait to see them for real...lol! Love your background, too, with all the fab circles! Your photo with the snow is lovely! It snowed again here this morn and the temps are in the teens. I'm sayin' enough of winter...lol!:-)
I love this background you made. I also like that way you did the sentiment. I don't think the butterfly is too big. Butterflies need to make a statement. It's a beautiful card. I was just on my way out the door to send your package (your snow packed in dry ice - LOL but I guess I won't have to send it now. I'll just send it to Lynn, she still needs it and seeing as how a have just a little bit to spare I might as well be nice and share. Your yard looks gorgeous with your snow and ice. I'm not laughing, I promise. We got 3 inches yesterday and are suppose to get another storm next Wednesday no amounts guessed at yet. Have a good day and stay warm.
I love the yellow! I love the background with the circles...to me its a very soothing card! Love it! And while its 73 here I love looking at all your gorgeous snow!!
Wowser! that's a lot of snow, Benzi! It's a beautiful, peaceful scene - thanks so much for sharing. Since one Donna sent the snow, how about if another Donna sends you some warmth and sunshine? LOL
Your card is nothing short of amazing, BenBen - it is so ARTISTIC and gorgeously put together - the colors are perfect! Thanks so much for sharing.
hugs,

I think your background turned out pretty! I saw that technique on their newsletter and want to try it. A nice springy card for this wintery day!
I just posted pics on my blog of the snow...lol. I LOVE it and agree it looks wonderful! Now that we have had a good amount of snow, I'm ready for the flowers to bloom. :)
Beautiful card with that technique.
Pretty pic...our backyard has a lot of white in it too. But ours has been there for a while now...smile. Right now I just want it to get a bit warmer.
Wow such a beautiful card - love the flower and beautiful background!!!
Your card is stunning and oh how I love the background you created! I don't mind the yellow as this winter has made every day grey! Pardon me if I don't enjoy the beauty of your snowfall - I've had enough cold, snow and ice this February to last a lifetime! LOL Bring on spring!!
I love your bright and cheery card Brenda and isn't it fun to play with paint and ink?
How wonderful that your garden backs onto woods! Will we see a second photo with a snowman on it (please)?
Have a great weekend.

WHat a contrast between the beautiful, bright, summery card and the Winter scene! Love them both. I was wondering if you were getting snow and glad to see you did. We did too. It was beautiful! More so because it was just a few inches and not feet!
Oh this is a beauty Brenda!! I love love your beautiful background with the pretty flower and butterfly!! Boy all that snow looks beautiful but wayyyy to cold, stay warm :)
Oh, Brenda, what a beautiful card, and I LOVE your background! I need to try that sometime. It is a beautiful background for the lovely flower and butterfly, and I love your "frame around it. And wow, that sure is snow...something I never want to see IRL again!! Haha!! Keep warm, sweet friend! Hugs!
Oh Brenda what a beautiful picture of the snow. WOW, that could be a postcard. It sure was pretty coming down. Your card puts me in a cheery mood. I love all the bright colors you have been using. I saw that challenge over at Splitcoast. I think your card is perfect just the way it is. I am exhausted today so it's a stay in kind of a day. Enjoy the weekend. Hugs, joann
Love that background, Benzi! Wonderful flower and butterfly. Yellow does seem to say "spring," doesn't it? If you have to have snow, that seems to be the perfect amount rather than the several feet of it burying most of the northeast. I did think about you when I was watching the news about snow in Alabama, to say nothing of Georgia and South Carolina!
Love the yellows...makes me feel that Spring is nearby! Actually I like your swirls of color, but I also think the bokeh look added a lot of interest too. Will be hunting the tutorial you mentioned...Lovely flower & awesome butterfly, and just a very 'happy sunshine' feel to this pretty card. Enjoyed seeing your snow. We had snow/ice for a 4am airport run, pretty scary. Today the sun is out, still a bit cold, but no white left here at our house. And I'm quite ok with that as well! Enjoyed seeing the kids doing some snow sliding yesterday at a neighbor's house. TFS & Hugs. Happy wkend.
Gorgeous card love the sunny colours and beautiful flower-I think the background looks just brilliant -I love the snowy pic as long as it stays on a pic lol we have had no snow for the second year running here up to now!!!

Gorgeous background and flower! Can't believe you got snow!!! Saw a photo of snow in Florida too!! Yikes - OJ prices are going to rise. And here we have had the second warmest winter on record - cherry trees are blooming already!
Liebe Brenda,
was für eine schöne Frühlingskarte.
Der Hintergrund leuchtet wunderbar. Die Blume gefällt mir auch sehr gut.
Ich wünsche dir einen schönen Tag.
Liebe Grüße, Anja
Stunning card and just love your pic of the snow...wish we had that here in Australia in my back yard....

Your garden looks BEAUTIFUL covered in snow! And your paper garden is also very pretty...the background is my fave part. It's gorgeously done.
Stay safe on those slippery sidewalks and roads! We had a two-hour delay for school today. Was not a problem when I did not work full time. :/
This is such a bright and cheery card - love that flower image too! This is just what I needed for a little cheer-up on another dreary snowy day, here in NJ. Thanks for popping over to my blog. I'm your newest follower - Thanks to Mary!
Well your card looks pretty fabulous to me, I love your multi coloured butterfly and you can never go wrong with a sparkly butterfly :)
We had snow yesterday morning too - about 1" and it took twice as long to get to work, we just can't cope with the snow over here LOL.
I'd be ecstatic to have that snow in my yard! I imagine it's a wonderful change to see it in AL as well :) We went to Tenn a few months ago and were romping in the snow like fools and everyone in the neighborhood drove by looking at us like we were nuts! LOL!
Now your card - OH my! A vision! Such a creative use of color and so eye catching - the eye is drawn right in on this beauty!
Have a great week! ♥
