My card was entered into the MIX107 challenge on Splitcoaststampers:Sentiment Mash-Up---Create a new sentiment from at least two sources and use at least two mediums. Also, my card was entered into the Dirty Dozen Central Theme Fan Club Challenge for January, CT0215-For the Love of Friendship--There were several ideas for interpretation. I decided to feature a special sentiment about friendship.
I made the background doing a color wash with Distress Ink, Tombow markers, and water for a color wash. The poppy was watercolored with a brush using Tombow markers and water.
I've used two stencils and embossing paste.

Icy trees in woods behind my back lawn. This doesn't happen too often in my area of AL...maybe a little snow coming this week, too. I sure hope so. Donna (Designing Keepsakes), maybe you won't have to send me any snow. Ha Donna was going to send me some by mail because she has piles and piles of it. Wonder how that would have worked????? We're both thinking not very well.

The ice looks so pretty on those trees Brenda! Looks like a winter wonderland. I'm sure Donna would love to send most all of that snow they're getting - and I want my name of the list for it too if she finds a way to get it here.
Your card is a beauty! Love the use of the embossing paste and the stencils. The wash looks fantastic in the background too. Love it! The bright colors put a smile on my face!

Gorgeous card and fab photo Benzi huggles Sue xxx
This card is just stunning, Brenda. The stencils with the paste really stands out nicely. I love the color of this flower and I adore the way you've done your sentiment. I see you have a gorgeous view behind your house. I'm jealous. I know ice can be a pain and dangerous, but I do miss it this year. We have so many trees and not one bit of snow has stuck to them and no ice at all. I had planned on packing your snow in dry ice LOL but I guess you'll be getting your own so I won't have to. I hope it does not end up being too much. It is snowing again right now. We've gotten about 3 inches so far today and they say maybe another 3 inches over the weekend. This winter has really been something everywhere in the country. Wishing you a good night my friend.
Am loving all the mixed media you are doing, and this stamp is just so pretty the way you've done it. Love the paste embossing and the fab colorations on this lovely card. Your tree scape looks like what we have here today. Not much snow, but more ice on the trees. Not really as cold as I expected, so should be gone quickly. Stay warm, hope you can stay inside & off the ice. Take care. TFS & Hugs
Wow! Ice storm! Icky! Here in FL we are slated for 28 on Friday - doesn't Mother Nature know it should not get that cold here?
Benzi, your card is BEAUTIFUL! such lovely shading and your background is gorgeous, of course - I love how you have broken out of your routine with all these techniques. I'm trying to do that at least once a month - or at least do some "old" technique which I've not done for a while. Thank you for sharing your amazing creating - so sun shiny and happy (just like you!) xo
Die Karte ist wunderschön, Brenda. Da bekommt man schon eine Sehnsucht nach dem Frühling. Auch das Foto ist schön.
Liebe Grüße,Anja
What a cheery and bright card, complete with a great background! I seriously need to get on the embossing paste wagon soon and give it a go! I love your icy trees - they're just beautiful!
I was ready to post the same thing as Lynn, said in a post above. Winter wonderland...It really does fit. When we have that we get really nervous because our tree is too close to our house...(we weren't the ones who planted it) and in storms we always worry about the limbs falling on our house..(It hasn't been that long since we had it professionally trimmed either $$$$$)
Your card is so pretty, and sunny and bright. I like all the texture with all the neat techniques that you used!
Your card is so warm and a textural delight, Brenda! It's a contrast to that icy cold photo of the ice you had!! That was a freaky storm for the South!
I swore when I first saw your card and your photo, I thought for sure you were entering the Inkspirational challenge and your photo was the photo being used for the challenge! You should enter!
I hope you are getting more sleep! Hugs, Darnell
How beautiful are these wonderful colors. Your card is so creative and I always love seeing your new creations.
It's cold here that's for sure and I love that picture of the ice on the trees. Looks like we got that snow this morning.
Hugs, joann
Spectacular poppy, Benzi! Lovely color combo and I love how you did the sentiment.
Your card is so lovely with warm color and fab texture! It looks like it's welcoming spring! I'm saying, yes...bring on the spring!:-) I'm sure the ice storm was not pleasant. The temps here are bitter cold, but the sun is shining today...yeah!:-)
Love that card. Bright and cheerful as that type of card should be. The friendship sentiment is an excellent choice.
Love your picture of ice coating the trees. Like a wonderland. I am sure it didn't last long. Nice to have the picture for the memories. - Jim
I was thinking that everyone back east truck all that snow to us, as were still in a drought and its been in the high 70's and everything blooming...crazy weather I tell ya! I absolutely LOVE your card Brenda!!!
What a beautiful poppy, Benzi! It looks like Summer! And the icy trees are beautiful as long as you don't lose power! We got sleet Monday night and maybe some snow tonight. LOL, I don't think snow travels through the mail well!
Oh, Brenda, what a stunning card! I love the poppy image, and the colors are fabulous! I've still not dared into mixed media yet, but I'm sure I will with Nancy (stiz2003) this week! I so love the added texture and beautiful layout and collage feel! And, wow, that's a lot of beautiful ice! Just warm, sweet friend, and soon it will be spring! Hugs!
ice looks very pretty as long as you don't have to venture outside lol gorgeous card I love the image and sunny colours

Wow Brenda this is FANtastic!! I love the the textures and wonderful colors! The poppy is beautiful! REALLY a wonderful mixed media piece :) Those icy trees sure make it look cold. It is in the 80s here but then that means summer is just around the corner!!
Wow, your card is a slice of summer for sure! Your colouring is soooo pretty!
Brr, it looks kinda chilly with you, definitely cosy slippers weather!
You have become a great mixed media artist. Beautiful card!
I'm behind in my blogging and am working backwards on your blog. LOL, I just asked if you got any snow/ice Friday on your last card. Should have scrolled down before asking.
Pretty card - love the flower, techniques and colors. The MIX challenge is one of my favorite challenges and I love how cards look with the techniques from there.
How different our two parts of Alabama are - we haven't had ice or snow yet and I am praying that it stops the county up from me like the forecasters say. We are weather babies down here!
