Our February New Release Mini:

Spring Joy

My card using set Blessings
I just love bunny rabbits so this is the image I chose to use from this set called Blessings. The set also includes a beautiful lily and several sentiments, such as the one I'm using. It is great for Easter, Spring, Summer, or almost any occasion. I used MFP's Premium Heavy White cardstock and the designer paper is from The Mariposa Stack. The card is colored with Copics and I  made the sentiment tag by cutting a pennant design into each end of the strip of paper with my scissors and adding pearls. The small die cuts sticking out around the top of my image are just pieces from a Cheery Lynn Designs lace rose and flourish die that I had cut apart.

My frame was made using one of Becca's tutorial found here at Amazing Paper Grace. I love making it and it is really easy, especially after making the first one. I made the frame using a Moroccan border punch..not a punch around the page.

Also, another tip: After using my largest Spellbinders Blossom die for the rabbit image, I used one Lois' (one of our DT members) ideas to make the size I need to layer it on.  If your next nestabilitie size up is too large, or in my case, I had used the largest one,  just place the nestie you used on you paper and trace around the outside rim and cut with your scissors. It gives you a good size rim to layer your top one on without being too large.

Hope you check back tomorrow for the last day of our hop.

Pop-Up Card

This is my first pop-up card and it was fun. The tutorial can be found here  on Splitcoaststampers if you would like to make one. It really was easy. I'm using a couple of the stamp sets that will be released tomorrow (Tuesday) at Mark's Finest Papers, A Heinrich Company. The stamp set on the outside of the card is Dogwood Blossoms and the inside image/sentiment is Blessings. The DT will be having a blog hop starting Tuesday and going through  Friday showing these and other sets that will be released. Hope you'll hop along with us.

My card is for the FOSTV challenge at Home of Speedy TV and it is to decorate the inside of your card. I used one of the pretty images from Blessings and cut out only the rabbit's head and propped on the sentiment. Love his long, floppy ears. I'll be showcasing that complete image later in the week.

A little tip: To get the purple nestabilitie the size I wanted, I put down the nestie and traced the outer edge and then cut out with scissors. My next nestabilitie size would have left a larger rim than I wanted.  That is a litte trick I learned from Lois aka Clownmom, one of the MFP team members.
