Wow! Heat wave going on here. We hit 102 degrees on Sunday and the humidity was awful. What's new? Anyway, it sure beats winter...at least for me. I'm anxious to see what the temps are today. I'm sure it won't be much of a cool down. I was hoping tropical storm Debby would bring us some rain but the weather forecasters aren't very hopeful.
The challenge this week at
Friends of Speedy TV, #26, is to make a Fourth of July card. I used a tutorial from
Splitcoaststampers to make this flower pot pocket card. I used papers, punches, and the right colors to make it a 4th of July card.
The stamp set I'm using is from
Mark's Finest Papers and Stamps, A Heinrich Co. It is called
Welcome Poppies. I stamped the poppies several times, colored, and cut each poppy. They were then popped on the rim and pull up card inside (see below).
The punch is EK Success Starry Night edger and the dp is Scenic Route-Liberty. I colored with Copics and used pink sorbet twine from The Twinery.
Hope you'll join us this week and link your 4th of July creation. We would love to see it. There is also this wonderful stamp set to be won by some lucky participate.
See you there...just add your card with the inlinkz tool.

Now, to this wonderful award from my long time friend and blogger pal:
This is the cutest award with the ladybug and I feel so honored having it come from Ellen at
The Serendipitous Stamper. Wow! She is one of the best crafters around..always full of new and inspiring ideas.
We are supposed to choose 10 bloggers with fresh ideas that have blogs I admire. Ellen, I have to say when I receive awards I can never choose stampers because I know so many good ones and hate to leave anyone out so I just always say to my pals they are welcome to pick up this award if they so choose. They are all so deserving. I sure hope that is o.k., Ellen and thanks again.
