This is the perfect stamp set for making my little grandson a birthday card. He is so into pirates. For  his third birthday I made him a treasure chest and put some maps/treasures inside. I am using a piece cut off one of the canvas-type maps on this card which he will receive for his next birthday. The flag pole is part of a pirate ship die cut and I stamped the trunk again and cut out the skull to place on the flag. The canvas fabric for the sentiment came from Hobby Lobby. I've distressed around the image by curling/tearing some of the paper and inking with Distress Inks. The only coloring was the compass rose.

Recipe:
Stamps-MFP Buried Treasure
Paper-map canvas from Hobby Lobby, The Paper Studio Textured Waves
Ink-Memento Rich Cocoa, Toffee Crunch, Desert Sand, Tim Holtz Distress Ink-Walnut Stain,
Accessories-Sizzix Bigz Die-Pirate Ship-flag and pole only, Canvas fringe, twine, Copics

Next, you'll head to Toni's blog.

FOSTV-Tags and Tickets

The Friends of Speedy TV  challenge 39 is Tags and Tickets. I decide to put mine on a card. I had the smaller tag and thought to make it really pop out, I would cut a larger one with a bright background and place under it. The Fall leaves are from Mark's Finest Papers and Stamps, A Heinrich Co. and the set I used is called Autumn Glory and for the sentiment I used a set called Island Life.

My small ticket at the top of the card is a freebie from Scrap-A-Licious Times and is a digital image. My designer paper is MME Paper Pad called Sunshine. I'm using MFP cardstock, Orangie Sunset and Chipboard.

Hope you'll come over to Speedy TV and join our challenge this week. Here is the stamp set being given to some lucky winner this week, Island Life.

Ornaments are punched with a EK Success ornament punch.
The paper is PTI white cardstock and Stampin'Up! Perfect Plum
Embossing folder is Cuttlebug swiss dots.

Moon Rising

I'm having a hard time this morning .... made and re-made this card. Now, I can't get into Splitcoaststampers to upload it or to show you the card I cased for Queen for the Day. My blogging and DT friend and pal, Joanne Grzelak aka jojot, is the new Queen this week. She has a spectacular gallery of cards. Probably just as well I can't show you hers as mine turned out quite a bit different. :-)

My card is a sneak peek from Mark's Finest Papers and Stamps, A Heinrich Co. This set along with others will be released next week. You'll want to check out these wonderful stamps. The September blog hop starts next Tuesday, 9/25. Hope you'll mark your calendar, join us, and maybe be the winner of some great stamps.   The set I'm using is called I'm Going Batty. Isn't he a cute trick or treater?

I'm using a tree die cut, punched a circle for the moon and placed white cs behind it. I sponged the moon and then I tore some black cardstock for the ground...card finished.

Recipe:
Stamps-MFP I'm Going Batty
Ink-Memento Tuxedo Black, Spring Pansy, and Perfect Plumeria
Accessories-Stampin'Up! 1 1/4" circle punch (moon), Fiskars Lattice Entertain You border and corner punch, Memory Box Arboscello Tree die cut

Recipe Week

Sabrina Friel at CCEE Stampers has another super challenge for us this week. Use an image or paper which features food or drink. Bonus points if you make a card which includes a recipe. :-) I sure wanted the bonus points so I have included a recipe my Mother used to make, Marinated Carrots. I still make them occasionally, usually at holiday time.  You can find the recipe as the post continues. Hope you like carrots.

I'm using a Flourishes image from a set called Garden Fresh. My card is 5 x 5 and I made the recipe card 4 x4,  colored, and popped on so you can remove the recipe from the rest of the card if you like.

This is the  open part of the  recipe card. I added a panel of my designer paper to the inside top....just for fun , color, and also to cover the Copic coloring of the carrot image that ran through.

And, last is another photo  I enlarged so you can read and copy the recipe if you like. It really is good....well, if you like carrots and a bit of tang.

Come over and join us for this fun challenge and see what the rest of the team did this week. We would love to see a recipe if you care to share.

Recipe for my card:

FOSTV-Bingo challenge

Good Monday Morning....Rise and Shine! Can there be any such thing as a good Monday morning? It's hard to think of it  that way at times. I had a slow weekend, made a card or two and watched a football game on Saturday.

This week at Friends of Speedy TV we are having a Bingo challenge. That is one of my favorite kinds as you get to choose what you want to create.

I chose Anything But a Square, ribbon, monochromatic. I made an A2  card (4 1/4 x 5 1/2) and used blue as the monochromatic color. The stamp sets I'm using are from Mark's Finest Papers and Stamps, A Heinrich Co./Christmas Wreath Mini and Christmas in the Country.

We would love for you to join us this week in our Bingo challenge. Just create your card, come over to Speedy TV, look for the FOSTV challenge #38, and link your card. We would love to see your creations and maybe you would be the winner of this beautiful stamp set called Old Summer.

Accessories-Stampin'Up! Dazzling Diamonds, Tim Holtz blending tool, glue pen, Sizzix Elegant Enhancement set (sentiment die), Cuttlebug embossing folder/snowflakes, Copics for dyeing ribbon

Autumn Waterfall

Watch out! Long post........

This was my first time to make a waterfall card. I must say it was fun and I took the opportunity to make it a Fall card which can be used either for Thanksgiving or Halloween. A sentiment can be put inside when I decide which I want.  The challenge I'm doing is for CCEE Stampers, given by Sabrina Friel to make either a waterfall card or a free standing pop-up card. The tutorial for both of these can be found in the tutorial section on Splitcoaststampers.

If you pull the tab at the bottom of the card, it begins to unfold each of the stamped squares. Just push the tab back up to close it. The SCS tutorial shows better how this works.

I've stamped images used on the squares on the Crumb Cake cardstock. I colored images on my squares with Copics.

Shown below are the last two images still unfolding.

We hope you'll go over to the challenge 1237 and join us in making these fun cards. We would love to see what you make.

Recipe:
Stamps-Inkadinkado/Scarecrow Mini, Bo Bunny Stamps-Apple Cider clear stamps ( set includes the flourish, acorn), Stampabilities/Fall Leaf, Stampabilities/Pumpkin
Paper-Mark's Finest Papers/Late Afternoon Sun and Orangie Sunset, Stampin'Up! Chocolate Chip, Old Olive, and Crumb Cake, PTI White cardstock
Ink-Memento Rich Cocoa
