One Lone Pumpkin

Do I ever feel yucky today? I worked in my yard on Saturday planting some perennial ferns and I'm hoping I haven't waited too late. I am was afraid I would have allergy problems because I was not wearing my mask. All I wanted to do was hurry and finish because it was so hot. So hot that I planted three, had to come inside to cool off and go back for the next three. Well, enough of that misery.

Over on SCS, the Free For All challenge was to do a card using more than one stamp. Pretty easy!! I used two. I was ready to make a Fall card again and a Clean and Simple, also. The other challenge on SCS was to crown a new Queen for the Day, Princess Heather. There's very little to say about my card... just stamped my images, popped my pumpkin, added a ribbon and sentiment and it's all finished. Just what I need today...easy peasy.
Stamps: Inkadinkado-Autumn Foliage, All Night Media for grassy images

Birds Sing a Song

Can't believe another week has passed since the last Stampin B challenge. This week, challenge #72 here, DT member, NancyRuth gave the challenge to use a die cut, circle, and a flower on your card. My die cut is my circle.
Stamped my bird image, did a little sponging before removing from the die cut, made use of the cuttlebug for dry embossing, and added a flower and it is finished. I think this is the third card in a row on which I've used the wonderful stamp set from my sis. Funny how something just sets around for a year or two and you use one stamp and fall in love with the complete set. Of course, I'm a bird lover so that could be part of the reason I'm so smitten.
Stamps: Cavallina Papers & Co., Inc.-Birds & Nests, Marks Finest Papers-Our Family Tree (sentiment)

Accessories: Spellbinder's circle nestability, Cuttlebug Distressed Stripes embossing folder

Bird and Vines

Today challenges on Splitcoaststampers were the CAS80 and TLC286. I got out the same stamp set I used on the card I posted yesterday. It is the set my sister gave me in the beautiful tin I showed. I've had those stamps for probably two years and never used them. Now that I have, I am just loving them. They're really beautiful, though I had never heard of the company she got them from.

The CAS challenge today was a beautiful sketch and the TLC challenge was to use ribbon without the standard bow or knot. I kept my ribbon very simple since it was also on the Clean and Simple card.

Stamps: Cavallina Papers & Co., Inc. for the bird and vine image
Inkadinkado Garden Flower for the sentiment
Paper: Stampin'Up! Not Quite Navy, white cs from LSS
Ink: Night of Navy

QFTD and Free For All - Sympathy

On Splitcoaststampers today, there is a new Queen for the Day reigning and it is Mothermark. She is really famous for her teapots but I did not need to attempt to case one of those. So, I chose something much easier. This card is also for the SCS Free for All challenge to make a pick-me-up card for someone needing cheer, to get well, etc. I chose to do a sympathy card.

I sponged my clouds using round and oval templates made with Stampin'Up! punches. The cross was from a set of cross stickers I recently bought thinking I may have some use for them. They were all so beautiful and sooooo white. I need color on mine so I inked it with SU Soft Suede and inked the white pearl with the same ink. I glittered and embossed it as well. I stamped the sentiment and cut freehand.

Stamps: My Sentiments Exactly
Paper: Black and white cardstock
Ink: Memento Summer Sky for clouds, StazOn jet black-sentiment, SU Soft Suede
Cross-Sticko dimensional stickers
Clear embossing powder
Bazzill pearl
SU Dazzling Diamonds

Fall is in the Air

Don't we wish Fall was in the air? Won't be long, though. Then, winter....ugh! My most dreaded season. I am like a chunk of ice until at least 80 degree weather returns.

I made my card for these two challenges: card positioning systems
This is their sketch this week:

Also, the card is make for the Color Throwdown challenge found here.

Using these colors was a little hard for me and I wanted to do an Autumn card but thought I needed to add some cream color for my image to show well. Then, I decided that was too much of the cream for an Autumn card so I crimped my cream base and
drug my Always Artichoke ink pad over it for a distressed look. Roughed up the edges a bit, also. For my side panel, I like the leaves falling gently over the lattice.

Stamps: All Night Media (Posh Impressions) - tree
Stampendous Everyday messages set 2-sentiment
Paper: Stampin'Up! Always Artichoke, Perfect Plum (substitute for Elegant Eggplant),
Soft Suede, Very Vanilla
Ink: SU Soft Suede, Elegant Eggplant for sponging
Accessories: Cuttlebug Floral Borders die cut, SU oval punch, Martha Stewart Fall
Leaves edger punch (using only the leaves that punched out), Spellbinder's long, scalloped rectangle die cut

Winter Scene

As hostess for the Stampin B challenge this week, Faith aka Markie's Mom asked us to made a scenic card. I love snowmen so I decided to make a winter/Christmas card.
I did some masking, sponging, and used a lot of glitter (which I see isn't showing. Maybe I should make the picture over). Made a hill and stamped the trees on top. The large snowman and small tree have been stamped twice, cut out, and popped on dimensionals. I did a freehand cut of the cardstock instead of using a nestie, mostly because I wouldn't have one to fit. Hmmm...

We would love for you to join us here. Show us your scenic card.

Stamps: Large snowman-Hobby Lobby Brand
Small snowman-Holiday Snowglobe Stamp Set
Large trees-Inkadinkado
A Muse-Tiny Bird

QFTD21 & Ribbon Flower for Speedy's Friends

I'm so late getting the QFTD21 card made to honor Irene aka Dandi93 on Splitcoast but
here I am! My son and his family were here for 5 days. What a treat! They have a son 1 1/2 years old and you know I'm spending time with them instead of crafting.
You can be sure I did miss my cards, though!

I also made this card for the Speedy's Friends challenge #15: http://marksfinestpapers.blogspot.com/ Joanne Travis asked that we make our own embellishment. I looked for a flower tutorial and found this one for a ribbon flower. http://lisapace.com/2007/04/18/ribbon-flower-tutorial/It really was easy and I added two buttons with a hot glue gun.

Stamps: Stampin'Up! Pocket Silhouettes for sentiment
Paper: Stampin'Up! Real Red cs, black cs, white cs
Spare Parts (The Paper Studio) round fabric brads
SU Ticket corner punch

Happy Thanksgiving/Featured Stamper Vicki Dutcher

It's been a busy weekend and I got behind on some challenges. I'm still rushed but managed to get one card made.

This week on Splitcoast Stampers, Vicki Dutcher was chosen to be Featured Stamper for the week. She has a beautiful gallery of cards. I chose a card to case where she had used some of her wonderful sponging. http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/1499143?&si=vdutchr I kept her sketch and wanted to make mine a Fall/Thanksgiving card. Changed my nestie and sentiment.
