QFTD32 on Splitcoaststampers, Bah! Humbug! challenge

Today's Queen For the Day on Splitcoaststampers is Linda aka morningsun47. What a deserving, sweet person. I am so glad to case one of her cards. I am really loving the CAS cards lately and wanted to do another one today. I just ruined my embossing folder by getting a speck of ink on one side so I had to find a plan other than the one I started with. You know how a speck of ink would magnify on a photo. Ugh!
So, the card I cased had used a partial folder. I cut mine in half, used that section, and because both ends were the same, I cut out the poinsettia on the opposite end, sponged it, and popped on dimensionals for my embellishment. In the end, I really liked it.

I'm also entering my card into this challenge: Bah! Humbug!  Their challenge #41 this week is elegance. It is your personal choice of what constitutes elegance and I am going with the simplicity of my card and I think the sentiment is very elegant.

Got Fangs? Stampin B's Design Team, Pile It On, Stamp Something, Stampin for the Weekend

I just love this little trick or treater. I picked him up at Hobby Lobby. We have hunreds of trick or treaters coming to our house on Halloween. Therefore, we buy lots of candy and fun items. We started buying several weeks ago. Halloween will be celebrated in my city on Saturday night this year because of it falling on Sunday.
Vicky Gould is the hostess this week for the Stampin B's Design Team challenge #81  and gave us a fun challenge to make a Halloween card with no orange and no black. Wouldn't you know, I forgot and started putting black bats on mine and stamped the houses in black. I had to start over and found out by going online that there are brown bats(disk-winged bat, for one) so that is what I have here.
This time, I used red, white, brown, and a lot of gray for my card. I colored the windows with a yellow Tombow Marker.
The cloak and face are paper pieced. I think his little fangs are so cute!

Santa Bunny in the Forest

I love the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge #19 this week. It allows me to do a clean and simple card. I am beginning to love the white space more and more.
This little Santa bunny sitting in the snow reminds me of cards I see at Christmas where all the animals are gathered in the forest on Christmas Eve night...just so adorable.

Hope you'll click on my card for a better view. I have a new camera and have so much to learn about it. Yikes!

Christmas Tree-Speedy's Friends

This week for Speedy's Friends challenge #25, Geri gave the challenge to do stitching or faux stitching on your card. That is a challenge that causes much trembling. LOL Let me tell you, I can't make a straight stitch. My sister gave me a Janome for Christmas last year but I never have time to practice on it because I'm always making cards. You know..the addiction! So, I just used some faux stitching on my envelope..couldn't find a spot on my card for it. Not very good planning, I suppose. I also stamped the same MFP's tree on the envie as the card.

I stamped my tree twice for dimension, cut out, and placed on top of my die cut. I like it except I wish I had stitching on it...maybe soon I'll master that.

Other challenges I'm entering: Paper Cutz #63 Anything Goes

It's Friday and time for another Queen to be crowned on Splitcoaststampers. She is Crystal aka crystalkbk. I'm sure many of you are familiar with her work. I chose a card to case from her gallery that was easy peasy as I have little time today. I wanted to make a Christmas card ...time is getting shorter and shorter to get those made. I am using an embossing folder that I just decided today I liked better than I thought. It has so much texture and pretty designs.
Can't wait to get my new camera ( I mentioned in my last post) up and going. The next thing I need is a light studio..oh, so much to do, want, and need. LOL

Paper: Stampin'Up! Cherry Cobbler and Whisper White cardstock, SU Jolly Holiday dsp

Harvest Home, StampinB, Kaboodle Doodles, The Stamp Man

It's another challenge for the Stampin B's Design Team and the challenge is to use Fall colors..rusts, browns, golds, etc. The colors are beginning to change in my part of the southern U.S. but not quite there yet. Actually, we need some rain to get all the splendid Fall colors we want. It is very dry here and I am really tired of watering. Ugh!
My card is for two other challenges: Kaboodle Doodles #41- Color Challenge to use the colors you see around you and use something that celebrates that color. Fall is all around and getting better everyday.
Below is a photo of some of the Fall colors I see around my area. The bottom one is a crape myrtle in my yard. I have 4 of those down my driveway and they look as if they are on fire when the sun shines on them. The other two are some I see when I drive around my city. This pic was taken last year as they're not quite there yet this year. But the inspiration is there for my card.

The Stamp Man Challenge Blog #7 - Autumn

I went out yesterday and bought a new camera. Of course, the one I bought was not in stock and I am driving two hours tonight to get it. I didn't want to wait a week for it to arrive. I'm really excited about it and will now have to fill my time learning to use it. It is a Nikon D90 SLR. I think there will be more to learn about it than my Sony Cybershot I am using now. Once I get the hang of it, I think I'll be fine. I am hoping it will be good for my cards, nature photos, sweet babies, ..love to take photos of birds, too. Wish me luck!
