Colored Dry Embossing

Over the holiday weekend, I found time to do the latest tutorial on Splitcoaststampers, Colored Dry Embossing. It is a tutorial by Jeanne Jachna and a video by Dina. It can be found here.

You are to dry emboss a piece of cardstock and color the raised areas. I'm using The Paper Studio's embossing folder called floral. Mine is a bit different as I decided I wanted to use acrylic paint for putting down the color instead of inks or pan pastels.

I used a very small brush and my acrylic paints. Yes, this did take a while but was easier than I thought because the raised areas were nice and high.

Recipe:
Stamps-None
Paper-PTI white cardstock, Bazzill Paper Basics/Black, Coredinations/fireside cardstock
Accessories-The Paper Studio embossing folder/floral, Americana Acrylic Paint/ Georgia Clay, Hauser lt. green, Hauser medium green, Margarita, white ribbon, The Paper Studio/black/cream lg bling adhesive sticker

This turned out awesome. Wonder if the acrylic paint is easier to use than the inks on the raised areas....it sure looks effective and love the strong vibrant colours.xxx

I have done this with embossing before. You are right. It is time consuming. When you told me you were going to post this I just had to come and see it. It is gorgeous. Very elegant. The white ribbon is just enough to complete it to perfection. Excellent. - Jim

This is stunningly dramatic, and especially so, with the colors you've chosen. That must have taken an extremely steady hand as well as the small brush. TFS the tutorial link, I'll check it out. Hugs & TFS an awesome card.
