In the Garden

My card is for the CAS311 challenge on Splitcoaststampers to use rainbow colors. This was such an easy card. I swiped my Distress Paints on a Ziploc bag, misted it and crumpled. I opened it up and placed it on my image and that created all the wonderful colors. Distress paints, stains, and inks are so much fun and you can use them so many ways for a color wash.

Recipe:
Stamps-Crafty Individuals/Dancing Dragonflies, Inspired by Stamping/Big Wishes II
Paper-PTI white cardstock, Bazzill Candy Heart cardstock
Ink-Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories-Copics for postage image, Tim Holtz Distress Paint/Wild Honey, Broken China, and Barn Door

I've never heard of using the Ziploc bag before, thanks for that little hint. I'll try doing that maybe today while I'm in the house with all this snow. LOL Seriously, your card is just lovely with all these bright cheery colors and your silhouette flowers. Have a great day.

That looks like a very fun and easy technique, Brenda, and I love the end result. It creates a perfect background for your silhouette image. Note to self: use your silhouette stamps!

Didn't know about this technique, but it sounds similar to the copic one where you swipe the markers on plastic, then swipe the glossy c/s over it. It surely made a lovely soft rainbow background, and I'll be trying this for certain (if I don't forget it!). The silhouette image is just perfect against the jewel colors and what a wonderful card you have made! TFS & Hugs.

You make it sound so easy Brenda, but when I try these things I often get a muddy mess. Your background is just beautiful and I love the over stamped flowers and dragonflies. Gorgeous.
