Meow Meow

CCEE1308

The cats have invaded my blog today. :-) Frances Byrne gave the challenge at CCEE Stampers this week: C is for CCEE challenge and what else? How many things beginning with this letter can you use to create a card? Think colors, images, embellishments, or styles of card.

I'm sure I could have made a circle card and used cream cardstock but I wanted to use my kitty cats and case a card.  So, here are my 'C' items and I may be stretching it a bit to use some of them.  C for cat,  cat eyes/circles (I made them with rhinestones),  checked paper, Cricut. I used the Cricut to cut my cats and sentiment. Of course, I used cardstock. I can't prove it but I cased my sister's card. :-) I made this card while visiting with her for a few days. I really like hers better. I flipped the sketch and really shouldn't have. Her card was a side opener.

Be sure to check out the rest of the team's cards. I think they will have come up with something better than I did. Just the same, it was fun making my card and I think you will enjoy this challenge. Come on over and join in.

Wedding Card

Here I am with a card I wasn't expecting to make. I decided to get crafty today and make a card I really need.

This is the first wedding card I've ever made. Don't know why, just haven't. I was needing one and today was Featured Stamper today on Splitcoaststampers. The FS is Mary aka MaryR917 and I cased this white on white card of hers. Really, the only part I cased was the color. I had some dies I wanted to use so mine is quite different.

I rolled my roses using a Sizzix die listed below.

My card is entered into the challenge at Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog-White on White

Recipe:
Stamps-None (inside only)
Paper-PTI white cardstock
Accessories-Cuttlebug textile embossing folder, Cheery Lynn Designs/Victorian Romance Flourish, Spellbinders Classic Heart, Sizzix Flowers-Bigz Die, white pearls, hot glue gun

A Special Day

A quick post today and my last one for this week. I've made a card for the Queen for the Day on Splitcoaststampers, QFTD152. Her name is Mary aka octoberbabe. This is the card I cased. Mary's card was so bright and cheerful  but I had Washi tape I wanted to use. I am so glad to find it in Michaels Arts and Crafts now. My tapes in dots and butterflies were together in one package.

How easy it is to use Washi tape. It's so easy to remove and re-tape if you need to and I did. :-)
I added my sentiment from Inspired by Stamping from the Flowers Bloom set, a flower, and ribbon and I'm all finished.

The flower is Prima Flowers/Parchment Petals Scroll and the ribbon is Offray Seamaid Black.

Hope your weekend is full of sunshine and warmth. We are having a cold day on Saturday. Ugh!

Boxes and Valentines For My Sweeties

Happy Valentine's Day to all my visitors!!

CCEE1307
Frances Byrne is hostess for this week's challenge at CCEE Stampers and asked that we create a flat backed treat box.....bonus points if you include a heart for Valentine's Day. The tutorial can be found here at Splitcoaststampers. I made this treat box above and the card just below for my two year old granddaughter. The card was made with a Meljen's Designs image/Sweet Heart Lollipop. The sketch can be found at Splitcoaststampers, SC418. The box was a bit hard to photograph as I wanted because I put the sentiment on top of the box and was trying to capture that, too.

The next treat box is for my two four year old grandsons (yes, I made two alike). It's a very simple box.  I'm thinking they will just be after the candy, anyway. :-) I found that the Lindt-Lindor chocolate truffles fit perfectly in these boxes.

I've made these cards for the boys using a sketch on Splitcoaststampers, SC409. The image is from Meljen's Designs/Lovey Pup. They were so much fun to make.

And, the next which is almost just like the one above...just a few changes.

Whew! That's it for the uploading except for my recipes below.. Hope you'll play along with us this week and make your own flat back treat box.

A Flower and Hearts

I played this week in the Teapot Tuesdays challenge on Splitcoaststampers. The destination for the card this week is for Nancy's/nwilliams6 mom. You can find the story here. Nancy is a good AL friend of mine and her mother is having health issues and she would like Valentine/love cards for her Mom and step-dad as they are so much in love.

I linked my two hearts together. We were to bring flowers or other items (cows, puzzles, etc.) but I didn't have most of those :-) (you would have to read the story) so I stuck to a flower.
When I photographed my cards the color changed to more blue than purple. They were a very pretty periwinkle color. I worked and worked but never got it right. In real life, mine had more purple color.

Paper-PTI white cardstock, unknown periwinkle cs
Ink-Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories-Martha Stewart lace scallop heart punch, Recollections flower

Frames and Flowers

Gosh, the sun is shining and I'm sooooooo happy! How great to see that ball of fire. I can hardly wait for the time to change in March. I love longer days.

I guess thinking of the sun is what brought on this bright card for the Queen for the Day on Splitcoaststampers. The queen is Susan aka susanbri and this is the card I cased. I used more white cardstock than patterned paper and because my sentiment is in the frame, I added some pearls.

My frame is a stamp that belongs to my sister (the person with every stamp that has ever been made).
I'm laughing but I think it is true. Thanks, sis! It is a Gina K. Stamp TV image by Nina Brackett. All I had to do was color the flowers, sponge inside, and cut out. I'm not sure if it fit with a Spellbinders die as some of hers do or not. The sentiment is Gina K. Designs. Names are listed below in my recipe.

Thanks for stopping by and have a fabulous week.

Rose is a Rose is a rose is............

I know so many have snow but we are in the rain mode here in Alabama. Go away.....I need sunshine and lots of it, along with some good warm temps. How about you...looking for the same? I bet you are if you aren't in the part of the world with those temps already.

My card is made using the wonderful new stamp set I've ordered from Inspired by Stamping/Flowers Bloom. The sentiment is from the same set as the pretty rose.

I'm entering my card into the challenge at Inspired by Stamping Blog Challenge-IBSIC #45 . The colors to use this week are: off white, light brown, and red.

I colored with Copics and added just a bit of green to the leaves..well, because that is the color leaves are. :-)

On a side note, I was fortunate enough to have this card featured on Inspired by Stamping's Facebook page this past Friday. How grand is that!!!

I'm also using the sketch from Splitcoaststampers sketch challenge #332.

Paper-PTI vintage cream, MME 6x6 paper pad/Sunshine
Ink-Rich Cocoa
Accessories-Copics, Spellbinders large rectangle die, Cheery Lynn Designs/Victorian Rose Flourish, Quickie glue pen, Stampin'Up! Dazzling Diamonds

It's All About the Weather

CCEE1306
Frances Byrne is the hostess for the month of February at CCEE Stampers and she let the team know Feb. 5th was Weatherperson's Day so she is giving the challenge this week to create a card that features some sort of weather. It can be sun, clouds, snow, rain, etc. You would know I would choose snow so I'll have an excuse to do another snowman. :-)

My scene is from a stamp I won from High Hopes called Winter Wonderland. I left off some lines that were on it for snow as it was a black line indicating a mound of snow. But, I wanted to sponge mine. I cut a template from cardstock and used Tim Holtz Distress Ink/Stormy Sky to create my snow. The sky was sponged with the same color.

The snowman is a Royal Langnickel/Let it Snow stamp. He didn't have a body below the scarf so I used an EK Success 3/4" punch to make one.  I colored him, cut out and placed him in the scene.

The rest of the recipe is below. We hope you'll join us this week for our weather challenge.

Recipe:
Stamps-High Hopes/Winter Wonderland, Royal Langnickel/Let it Snow, Hero Arts/Sparkle clear designs/Gift for You set
Paper-PTI white cardstock
Ink-Memento Tuxedo Black, Tim Holtz Distress Inks/Stormy Sky
Accessories-Ice Stickles/Silver Ice, Copics, EK Success 3/4" punch, red jute

For My Love

I made this card for my wonderful husband. I think this image is just perfect for a masculine card. It is called Cute Circles and I bought it at Inspired by Stamping. Does it ever stamp like a breeze!  The sentiment is from Mark's Finest Papers and Stamps/You Are Cherished. The 'Just For You' sentiment is from IBS, same as the houndstooth image.

My card was so easy to make. I stamped the image, punched some remnants from a Fiskars heart border punch, added two sentiments and the scored lines. That's it!

I think this will be the last of the valentines I'll be making. I may upload a few more but they are finished. How about you...all finished yet?

I'm entering this card into these challenges:
Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog-Have a Heart
Stampin' Royalty-Challenge #162-Create a card, scrapbook page, 3-D item, or My Digital Studio project with a love or valentine theme.
